imo im not against extending him he is a hungry guy and he likes to play , but that doesnt mean that a guy with 5ft9 that runs a 4.56 40 yard dash would have decent market. He was advised by his agent to acept this deal after all.
well players that are staring free agency in the face who take extensions, are taking the conservative approach- that's for sure. Cant say for sure he didn't think he could get money BUT he didn't attempt to, so that has to say something, no? Either way, hes a 3rd WR...not all that important to discuss at this point
Because he's a good player. He's not a game breaker but he's a quality NFL receiver which this roster has lacked for the past couple years. We don't have the details but if it came out and they gave him $30 million over 4 years with $15 million guaranteed I could understand the problem with the move.
Wow, great deal! I kind of figured around 16 mil over 4 years, but thought the guaranteed money would be around 10 mil or so.
Btw there are GenoSybermetricians here who swore all offseason that Geno was All World whilst Kerley was on the field and only godawful when he was not on the field. True story. _
Agreed. There must be some very easy to reach incentives in there because honestly, Kerley could get more. Also, we don't know what's guaranteed in what year.
Wow idk how i feel about this move until I see the numbers. Hes basically a slot guy and now the third option on this team. I think Harvin should play more and more from the slot taking snaps away from Kerley. I guess we've seen Kerley play on the outside, as with Harvin but its not ideal as it is hard to get all three guys on the field playing their best position. Will everyone just stop with this first round WR crap, a week ago it was a great idea.. now its time to move on there are way too many needs you would have to ignore to add a third or fourth WR option.
That's sad. We know the numbers and it's a great deal. 4 years, $16 mil with only around $5 mil guaranteed.
Maybe not 1st round, but someone like Kevin White or DGB could be there with our 2nd round pick, and I wouldn't hesitant one of them there.
I'm done trying to figure out what Idzik is doing. Just going to sit back and watch it all unfold. I don't see a cohesive plan but maybe there's a method to the madness.
Decker, Harvin, Kerley, Amaro and a receiver in the draft like White, Coates, Strong or Funchess would be great.
