Well then, we signed a fullback. I wonder if he'll compete for starter.

How do you know? Have you seen this guy play? When the Chargers first signed Gates, before you even knew his name, people called him a joke too? Who knows if this guy is a find or not. Once again perspective is a wonderful thing.

Why is everybody alredy giving up on the year. If we make just a couple of good moves in the draft and FA, and any combo of the moves suggested here would work towards making us a better team capable of competing this year. It all works together you don't sign players thinking they will help you lose one year and win the next

6-1, 249 lbs. is no lightweight. Maybe this kid has some talent. They must have seen something they liked and I'm for giving our FO a chance. The NE Patriots didn't build their SB team around known, high-priced standouts. They built it by spotting raw, eager talent and bringing them along. Maybe we can do the same.

As long as he clears holes for Curtis and keeps Chad or Ramsy up right, it's a good signing. They signed him just for that reason.

    Why

Do we always have to act like EVERY single player that we sign will be make a huge impact on the team? There is nothing wrong with bringing a player for a look see, if he pans out great if he doesnt big deal. Not everyone we sign will be a super star. Its just that when most teams are busy signing proven players , most of us have a hard time figuring exactly why a FB will be the greatest need for us. we lost one Fullback, we currently have two on the roster, so adding a third for a position like that is hardly BIG NEWS.
