I try to mentally block out the words these film guys say...or even simply put them on mute ( like I do for watching 90+% of all football games now) even Sabo and Nani and such... they're all fanboys, so...

also, perfectly welcome. How've ya been?

I guarantee JD has concerns about Becton….

That may be Cimini’s opinion but I will opine that he may be wrong. Nobody outside of JD and his immediate staff know who exactly he is targeting. I would say a final decision depends on who the first three players off the board is. If KT is there I think he is most likely the pick. If he and Hutchinson are both gone JD may very well go OT. Hell even if both Fant and Becton look great I’m not a big fan of the OT depth. Would drafting a replacement for Fant now be cheaper than resigning him? A lot of factors in play.

At this point I think there is a bigger chance of JD drafting Linderbaum than an OT especially with a trade down from #10.

So let me get this straight.
He is exactly the same type of player that the JETS have been signing for the past 12-15 years.
B squad fill ins who are on the cheaper side of things w/a possibility of potential
but people actually get upset if others don't get excited about it or praise the move????
Y'all a really weird group sometimes.

Nice filler, what's next.. don't overthink it.

yes they are important and valuable

they are not as important as actually closing the deal and getting the sack…I think that’s pretty clear that the NFL agrees…just look at which pass rushers get the huge money…the ones who get sacks…Garrett, Bosa, Mack, Miller, Jones, etc.

the possibility of a hurry causing a picki is great…just doesn’t happen too often.

I like the signing a lot….we need help at edge badly…and he will help.

But I still think that until we get a real stud at edge, our defense will be lacking…Rex made it work without a stud because he had the best corners in the league who could hold up an to man with anybody and that allowed him to blitz like mad and get creative. But even then, our D seemed to fail at the crunch times against good QBs….had we had a true pass rusher in that D it would have been unstoppable

all I’m saying…get us more pass rushers!

I agree he is a filler and a rotational piece. But, the difference is he is being signed to be the 4th (maybe 5th after the draft) in the pass rush rotation with the possibility of upside. On past Jet teams he would be expected to start.

Who is getting upset? IMO this is a good depth signing with some upside potential. He's not going to be the starter. I don't understand why anyone would be either upset or psyched about this signing. It's a solid move providing some insurance and depth.
