PS WHY do you people waste all of your time, everyone else's time, and message board space on these useless personal attacks against me?

I think most message board posters would like you all to move on...

It would not surprise me that there are/will be many.

There are tons of Green Bay "fans" that have been spewing venom at him on Packer message boards (and in real world), not just over the summer, but in some cases going back 3 years, they kept insisting the Pack should have cut him and gone to Rodgers almost from the day he was drafted. At least one of them came and started posting here I recall.

I personally believe some day when they are older and wiser (it's been my observation in "real life" situations that these are usually young guys in their 20s or teens, as I've written about before) they may come to miss what they had. I may be strange, but for me liking & following Favre has to do with a LOT more than mere winning (or losing). It's just the whole attitude he brings, the joy, the excitement no matter what the final score. Doug Flutie is another guy you can feel that way about IMO.

But I think it is that very attitude that pissed off some GB fans, magnified by their rage that people like me were complacent & accepting of his INTs, etc during that lean year 2005 when GB went 4-12, they wanted to dump him and go into rebuild mode ASAP; when he played hurt (broken thumb a few years back) they dissed him mercifully for that, that he was somehow selfish for suiting up and going in when his coaches asked him to (!) (aside: it's odd that for these guys, when the Packers lose it was all about him; but when they started winning again last year, even though he was putting up best numbers of his career -- better than a couple of his MVP seasons -- somehow it was all despite him. Man, I would presume they expect Pack to go 19-0 this year now that he is gone!).

Who knows what some people want out of a football player, to each their own. Some people want a precision "robot" like Brady, and will never be able to forgive Favre that he's not that kind of QB (& never will completely be at his core, no matter how much he will bend to his coach's philosophies). It seems like Mangini gets that, based upn his interviews so far, but we'll see for sure once Favre does something really boneheaded (trust me, it's only a matter of time, and will probably come when the Jets are already behind, and it will bury them even deeper).
