I'm watching Jim Rome right now and he is fawning over Ryan. Not like his opinion means much but he loves the verbal smackdown Rex laid on the Pats.

It's great to have a coach whose giving this team a new improved identity imo.

Keep his fat azz talking. It only makes the yearly beatdowns that much more enjoyable.

What's up with the big mouth/bigger belly/zero brains coaching concept?

Must be a New York thing.

Your screen name itself must make you a popular guy in Pittsburgh?

If this roster can go 9-7 with Mangini as coach and Favre hijacking the team then they can go at least 11-5 with a real coach. Brady being back will make things harder, but Mangini being gone is a gift to Jets fans.

why do people not understand this? our schedule last year was soft as shit... this year's sched is a LOT harder. im not sayin winning the div isn't impossible, it's just 11-5 is unrealistic.

I think it's just his was of instilling confidence and motivating the team. Sort of like Herm but in more of an arrogant, cocky sort of way. Spoken like a true New Yorker, lol. Not like the fairy tale Shrek Jets, or the top secret, everyone keeps their mouth shut Jets. It's more like "Get the f*ck out of our way or we're gonna blast your teeth down your friggen throat. We're the New York F*ckin Jets!" I love it. Absolutely can't wait for September!

and we lost to the raiders and seahawks, yet we beat the undefeated titans and the pats on the road. this team was inconsistent as all hell last year. they could play with anyone, they could also lose to anyone because of piss poor gameplans and sloppy execution. i say why do people not understand that with some consistency this team has playoff talent capable of beating any other team in the league.

I feel like it's hard to determine strength of schedule in the preseason. Teams always surprise you every year in terms of who turns out to be good or bad. Who would've thought 2 years ago that the NFC South would be a formidable division to oppose? I could easily see Atlanta, TB, and NO all coming back down to earth.

Always amazed me...these guys that come to other teams forums and think anyone here truly gives a rats ass about what they have to say. Like Jet fans will read that and say: "oh shit..hes right...what the hell have we gotten ourselves into here! He even called our coach a fatazz.....oh boy..this is going to backfire in a big way...maybe BB and Brady will never see the quotes...yeah...thats the ticket".

Kids..close your eyes..not really into the whole cursing internet thing...but it had to be said by someone..and good for Ryan...fuc the Patriots. Fuc Brady. Fuc the bandwagon Patriot fans with all their empty seats when they sucked.

This is stupid...as if the Pats needed any more motivation...sounds like bulletin board material to me

i expect a 30 point win by the Pats in week 2

are you a pats fan or are your balls somewhere on layaway? thank god nobody on the jets thinks like you do.

bulletin board material dont mean shit. our players motivation however does. its not like he said "Bob Kraft and those fuckin clamshuckers can eat a dick." Winning creates team identity's. And we all know damn well Rex Ryan didnt come here to lose. This team hasnt had any league relevance since curtis martin was around, or till we signed the drama king last yr. the days of the Pats dominating are over. im not saying the jets topple the whole damn division. but this whole attitude where the pats are deemed light years better. over with. especially after this yr, they got jerrod mayo (beast, loved him in college) and then bruschi's "best used by" date will kick in. they also have to wave goodbye to either Seymour or Wilfork.

furthermore, Tom Brady is a fucking awesome qb. but I doubt hes back 100 percent, i dont know anyone who can come back in under a year with that injury non chalantly. furthermore their OL isnt what it used to be either.

point in case, theyre just another fuckin team. mangini made them seem like titans and gilette stadium was mt olympus. slay the gods n whatnot. well fuck them the cracks will start to show in their aged dynasty foundation.

dont get me wrong, theyll definitely be in playoff contention and definitely in race for the division crown. but people need to wake up and realize real football players dont go oh god its the patriots, they focus on who theyll be playing all week and say, this guys gonna eat shit till the whistle blows.

Why go on attack lol? Damn...You are a little too sensitive

And if you believe that a statement like this can "motivate" the Jets, then why wouldn't it motivate the Pats? It works both ways.

Also, claiming that the Pats reign is over before the season starts is foolish. How do you know? The Pats went 11-5 last year without Brady. The Jets haven't done anything to prove that they are capable of being a perennial contender the way that the Pats have been. Chill with these proclamations until you see some evidence other than the "pump the team up" statements from a guy who has never been a head coach.

I actually like what he is trying to do. But it was stupid. Especially knowing how Belichick loves to embarrass teams/people/ect...

Agree. Last year was a particularly poor indicator for this year. Favre probably got the team to win a couple they wouldn't have with someone else at Qb, but then got hurt and pooped the bed.

But if the Jets don't get more help at wideout, this could be a very long season.
