I understand your thinking on this, but what vet is out there that would be any better? Manny Lawson? No thanks. He had 1 sack last season and has only averaged something like 2.4 sacks per season in his career. He's a career underachiever. If your concern is more setting the edge and stopping the run, might as well re-sign Pace, as he knows the system and would be cheaper.

I find it hard to believe that Buffalo waived Lawson just because he was going to be suspended for 1 game, particularly with all the other injuries and suspensions they've had at LB. We know that Rex isn't a disciplinarian. Now maybe Buffalo's new GM is a strict, no-nonsense type and he's doing it, but I can't help but wonder if Lawson's play has further deteriorated, or perhaps if there aren't some attitude or work ethic issues, or perhaps even another possible suspension for him in the outing.

So far the jets have cut 9 including Barney, Antoine Smiith, Pelon, Middleton, Bishop , Reilly, Morris, Liedtke and Sudfeld.

Lol. We cut the only te we had that can catch. Not that he was anything special, but still

Jeremy Ross was cut. Looks like Jalin will make the team.

Yeah seems weird and I don't get the love for Kellen Davis but for some reason the coaches love him I think. Cimini was calling him a lock for the roster so he must know something we don't

He's the only TE we have who can remotely throw a block, so he hasn't had any roster competition to this point.
That could change as other roster cuts start shaking free.

Edit*. Did anyone hear Mac interviewed during eagles game? Was lukewarm on tight ends and said its a 3 dimensional situation with other roster cuts potentially factoring into his decision making on final roster

Ronald Martin was playing against philly. Had a nice forced fumble.

I hope Middleton makes it to the practice squad. looked like a good future prospect at FS.

I'm not the type to get all wide-eyed and overreact whenever a player becomes available, but I think we should at least kick the tires for the asking price on this one. He's a pain in the ass off the field but he could elevate our defense from great to best in the NFL caliber.

Edit: I forgot how close we were to the salary cap. This probably won't work.

Excellent player, but a cancerous attitude. As you said, we don't have the cap space.

Yeah. Let's throw another $10 million at an aging CB.

even if we had the cap, we already have WAAAY too much invested in the secondary

So do we have an updated rough depth chart to look at now?

Mac continues to re make the roster in 2 years it is unrecognisable - only 20 left from previous regime

Geno Smith, Bilal Powell, Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa, Kellen Davis, Nick Mangold, Brian Winters, Ben Ijalana, Brent Qvale, Wesley Johnson, Dakota Dozier, Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, David Harris, Calvin Pryor, Rontez Miles, Marcus Williams, Dexter McDougle Nick Folk & Tanner Purdum.

Idzik's poor drafts are still an issue but Mac appears relentless in leaving no stone unturned

Per Cimini they worked out 10 players on Saturday including 3 TEs -

Interesting. They must have had their minds already made up about the cuts after Friday night in order to have time to work out all those players on Saturday. With some veterans being cut in favor or rookies, and the players they brought in for workouts are younger (21-26), it looks like they're taking a little more of a long term view for this season rather than a "win now" view.

Happy for Julian Howsare. Way to beat the odds and make the team for now. Guy comes from a small Div II school and survives a position change to make the roster. Good for him. I got the chance to meet his family last year and they were so excited that he was even getting a shot at TC.

Rory "Busta" Anderson wouldn't be a bad option to add at TE. He fell in the draft because his hands are small and can be unreliable but the guy is a hell of an athlete. Not too many 6'5 245 guys can run like he can. He's also not a bad blocker. He was at his best in South Carolina, running the middle seam. He's got some deficiencies but wouldn't be a bad option to add to this thin TE roster
