I thought he said it after the gag order? Anyway there very well may be more to the story. But until then I'm giving the benefit of the doubt to the guy that put his name on it.

The guy that was there said he didn't put his fingers in IK's face. You can believe what you want but I'm not putting more credence on anonymous sources over a guys first hand account of the incident. That literally makes no sense. If Geno did those things then there are other ways for Marshall to stick up for guy without flat out lying.

Lol at your idea of what right and wrong is, whatever.

I said what incentive is there for Marshall to lie about it, if Geno did do those things Marshall can stick up for him without lying.

You can give him all the benefit of the doubt in the world. But you can't completely dismiss the other stories reported--that's being intentionally naive.

And again, Marshall refuted none of those stories--just made a blanket statement with no details, it sounded like more of a judgment than an accounting of what happened.

If Marshall said--"yeah, I was there and Geno never touched him, didn't yell at him, didn't approach him, didn't point his finger in his face, didn't poke him in the face, he did nothing wrong" I'd believe it.

He said "Geno did nothing wrong". Maybe he thought Geno didn't owe him the money and was right in yelling at IK or poking him in the face. Maybe he thought Geno was being street tough.

We don't know from his statement, so I'll take into account all the statements and make my own udgements.

It's pretty funny how we differ, I'd agree.

Did he yell at him? Did he say "you ain't gonna do shit about it"? Did they confront each other?

    Lots of stories reported.

I don't like Fitzpatrick. I want Geno to start because I want to see how he plays when he finally has talent around him. I feel Geno has way more potential than Fitzpatrick with his physical tools. He just needs to get the mental part down. I don't know if he ever will, but I would have liked to see it for this season.

However, since the Jets have been winning, I say let Fitzpatrick play until his deficiencies start losing games(which will happen eventually). When it gets to that point I will complain if Bowles sticks with him. Until then I will just watch and see how things go

wow that is a big wow after 6 weeks from getting smacked in the jaw for whatever reason it is still being talked about.
There was something done by both parties involved did geno deserve to get punched more then likely not but his poor judgement let issues raise to a point where there was a confrontation. that brings into question his judgement, on and off the field. Sorry but you roll with Fitz till he looses the job. Geno is played out here and sitting may be the best thing for him. it may allow him to grow mentally. Physically he has all the talent but with his choices on and off the field (41 turn overs in 30 games started) says allot about his mental approach to the game.
For those who want to see him with better talent, sorry but he helped get himself into this position he is not guiltless. He has to wait for another chance. The best thing for Jet fans is if he doesn't get another chance this yr because that means we are winning and playing well. If you root for anything else you are not a Jet fan but a geno fan.

nobody does that is talking about it. The coach even said it takes two to tango so Geno is far from guiltless. To pretend he is anything else is being naive. Remember the story was his friend died then, a friend of his brothers, then the brother was in the hospital with an accident then it turned out he had broken ribs.......The truth is out there and we won't hear this yr

Sounds as tho someone needs to earn the respect of the locker room and front office all over again. If it were just a regular injury w/out all of the drama, he would be back as a #2 right away.

Love how Bowles disciplines his players. Makes Sheldon play with the 3rd stringers, same with Geno.

I don't think he's totally guiltless either but that's just my conjecture. If the truth does not coincide with your agenda would you accept it or will it be wrong?

Twitter vs. what was actually said..

"If Bryce is playing better and Geno doesn't have a grasp of everything we're trying to do, it'll be Bryce," Bowles said. "If Geno has a grasp of everything and he looks good, and we feel good about him, we'll go with Geno."

    http://espn.go.com/newyork/nfl/stor...ork-jets-returns-full-practice-ahead-schedule

Bryce will stay #3 all year regardless of who is #1. As soon as Geno is ready he will be #2.

The mental part is the MOST important part, that's already obvious with Geno, he does not have it.

Who cares if he can throw the ball farther or harder, he underthrows and overthrows out patterns all the time.

The Miami game was a facade, Finnegan should have never been on the field, decker had his way with him because he was injured.

This CS is probably looking at the film on him for the past 2 years and they realize he stinks and cannot play at this level.

Geno received a favor from Idzik and that is the only thing keeping him in these conversations.

If Idzik did not select him, he would have been a 4th or 5th round pick.

He will be out of the NFL after this year.

I just watched. the exact quote made on twitter was spoken by bowles. he then followed with what you quoted.

your comment was misleading and made me think the tweeter posted a false quote. she didn't.

I think your declaration is off base too. it sounds like there's a real chance petty is #2 this week with geno being a healthy scratch.

I think these next few weeks should be used as an opportunity to get Geno acclimated into the system. Petty should remain the backup until the bye. Then after the bye Geno should be the number 2.

Not sure what you are saying. Petty is and should be the #2 until Geno is fully ready. Geno IMO should not dress this week and maybe not even next. Once he is ready there is no question who will be the #2. Pretty simple.

Fitzpatrick earned the starting job because of INJURY not because he outplayed Geno. From all reports, Geno outplayed him in training camp. But you know, that's none of my business
