I'm in the same boat. I want him out there being the best cornerback in all of football. Everything else I'm willing to live with. That said, the more he pulls his stunts and opens his mouth, the more I dislike him, which sucks because he's freaking awesome and he's ours. .
I don't think we fully understand the importance of the family decision in where these guys end up during Free Agency. Winning the wife over is paramount when courting a FA.
Different sport, but the Yankees had to convince CC Sabathia's and Mark Teixeira's wives that they'd be happy/comfortable in NY. I think the Jets had to make Deanna Favre happy too.
When they're free agents, there's a good chance they have the money, they're secure. It comes down to what the family wants and how the family will be happy in their new environment. "At the end of the day, we all have to answer to our wives" --- Woody Johnson.
Yeah, I remember when Chris Pronger of the NHL got traded to the Edmonton Oilers.. they went to the Stanley Cup finals that year. I was flipping out because I'm an Oilers fan... then in the off-season he demanded a trade. He got one... to Anaheim. I remember at the time not understanding why he'd go from a successful team to a worse one. But it all came down to his wife wanting to live in Southern California instead of Edmonton, Alberta.
Jets Related Twitter Posts What a dick Revis is right now! He's done jack shit for us this year except cause headaches and now he talks shit about Moss' second half effort? God forbid he give his teammate credit. Cro shut him down if Moss is bagging it, it's because Cro put him in that mood. I know if I were Moss and just burned the "best corner" in the league and did it in slick fashion I'd be pretty amped to get out and play. Even better is the fact that Revis is talking shit without even knowing if he'll be playing. He's just pissed because the only game we lost is the game he played in. I know our offense lost that game. I'm just saying.
Revis better play and shut down Moss if he's going to do this. Cro and Coleman and Wilson can handle the other sorry WRs on that team. Childress/Favre will find a way to ruin this game for themselves. If the Jets pressure Favre enough, he'll just chuck it up to Moss. With Revis' ball skills and even a safety over the top, the Jets should have 4 picks.
Have we seen the tweeted quote in context yet? In my experience a quote like that is usually in the middle of a much longer quote that can totally change the meaning.
“In the second half, you could tell he was kind of like, you know, putting his foot on the brake,” Revis said after practice today. “Everybody knows that’s Randy. Sometimes he comes out and plays 100 percent. Sometimes he doesn’t.” “You guys can tell. You can see the effort,” said Revis, who reiterated that he won’t be back unless he’s 100 percent. “Playing football, you can see the body language and the effort of people when they’re out there playing. If a guy’s going hard or if a guy’s hesitating. That’s the way football is. You can see. The truth comes out. I don’t know if it was frustration of him not getting the ball a lot or whatever. But you could see it.” Revis, however, did expect Moss to be rejuvenated with his new team in primetime. “I think this is good for Randy right now,” Revis said. “There’s a lot of energy. I think he’s going to be very excited and happy to be somewhere new. There should be a lot of sparks flying. I’m sure the whole organization’s excited up there. It’s probably new hope for Randy.”
He definitely could have said this better. He also goes on to says that he thinks the trade is going to be good for Moss.
You mean his Moss talk, it was to reporters. Cromartie came in here to be our number 2, and because of Revis has been playing a different role. IMO, Cro has been doing a great job, when it comes down to it, it's about keeping them out of the EZ which we've done well.
Well, that and his wife wanting to get him away from his mistress. Wise choice to bring him to Orange County  We were glad to have him, though. I was at the game when the Oilers eliminated the Ducks at the Ponda Center. It was terrible, but the next year I got to watch them win the Cup right after my daughter was born.
