Because the defense isn't coming around, it's not about points its about making stops. This D hasn't stopped anybody in the 4th q. Go back to week one and Kerry Collins and the Titans drive down the field and make it interesting. NE the only thing that gave us a chnace was a blocked kick. Buffalo goes down and scores recovers an onside kick but ran out of time. The D only needed to make one stop in that game but twice failed or we win that game. Jax was just disgusting. Miami Olindo Mare misses a FG to send the game to OT after Joey Harrington goes for 220 in one quarter. Detroit John Kitna and Mike Furrey ate the D alive in the 4th q last week and fortuntaley we recover an onside kick to win the game. You give me one time this entire season when the D needed to make a stop and they did. I'm sure we'll see it again today in Cleveland with Charlie Frye looking like Dan Marino in the 4th Q. If we make the playoffs it's because we are better than the teams on our schedule. That doesn't make us a playoff team.
I want to see four solid quarters of football and a convincing win before I will utter the 'P' word. Let's hope it happens today:beer:
I'll talk playoffs when we clinch a spot. Until then, it's bad juju. Sorry, I've had too many heartbreaks to get ahead of myself when it comes to my JETS...
These looking beyond the next game threads always drive me crazy...every team is subject to the whims of the fickle football gods...and counting teams chickens..especially Jets ...is a foolish endeavor...for all I know I know...NFL may changes rules tomorrow and The Bears wind-up beating us THREE TIMES this year. Just relax and enjoy our season...already a vast improvement over HermanDaze!
