Maybe they can trade down to a later 1st round pick and get a 2nd rnd pick in return. I like that idea.
I think that is a real possibility if Sanders is still there at 7, and someone falls in love with him. The counter, of course, is the impact of him becoming a solid starter and completely destroying the entire leadership credibility for passing on him. On the other hand if we pick Sanders and he fails, the same fans will shit all over Mougey for the opposite reason. Is a damned if you do or don’t. Im hoping both QBs are gone and we pick a BPA on either side of the ball.
It’s a crapshoot ..Trevor Lawrence was “generational QB “ and he fell flat We will pay for a Free Agent QB ..book it A Glenn builds around an experienced QB
The Jets running to the podium to essentially flush the 7th overall pick pick down the toilet on Sanders, and with Deion basically screaming "don't you guys dare do it", would arguably set a new high bar on doing dumb Jets'y type things. The trade last last year for Reddick looks like a great concept idea compared to that decision lol Ward though I agree you would probably have to take if he was there.
You are kidding yourself there imo if don't believe he was referring to the NYJ franchise as a first and foremost consideration when making those statements.
I for one don’t want Sanders at 7, but Deion never said a damned thing about the Jets, let’s be clear.
Lots of Mock Drafts link Tyler Warren TE from Penn State at 7 Now that’s a Jets Draft pick! Id be pleased with Mason Graham, Will Johnson, T McMillan, Will Campbell or a trade back
Abdul Carter may need surgery. There is a window here that the Jets could get to #1. I'd be shocked but who knows, new regime and Woody needs to find a way to sell tix
“I wear number 44 because my dad watched John Riggins play and told me that’s how I want you to run the ball” - Penn State TE Tyler Warren I gotta admit that’s awesome
Deion has stated on numerous occasions there a multiple "foolishness" teams he won't allow his son to go to. Even going as far as to clarify his ground rules on them which clarify them out as teams that play cold weather, have a poor track record of developing young quarterbacks, and rarely make in the playoffs. If you really do believe i made a false statement there then what multiple teams do YOU believe he was talking about there then, and which appear to be more fitting then our Jets? I mean...c'mon. If the Cinderella shoe fits..... Browns and Jets are complete givens there imo.
Trading down would be the smart idea. The tier of elite prospects ends before the jets pick, so the guy the pick at 7 will not be much different from who's at 22 IMO.
