Screw the fans of other teams. Who gives a rats ass about them. The rest of the article was like a giant middle finger to the idiocy at the top.
Did you actually read the article? It is extremely complimentary of the Jets. In fact it reads like something out of a New York paper.
I love how this article comes from ESPN which has been kissing Patriot (and any team from Boston) ass for the last decade
yeah I read it after that post. But I do have a sentiment that most fans won't look past the fact that Rex told the media "we're gunna beat your team" and hate him without understanding he's one of the coolest coaches I've ever seen grace the sidelines. You gotta have a respect for someone like that even if you hate them. ESPN would love to make the Jets the Raiders of the new millennium. That doesn't sit well with me. Also, I fuckin hate ESPN
Actually no I dont want Tebow anywhere near this team. We don;t need 2 qb's to take up all of the spotlight.
ESPN=EPIC FAIL ! Stop trying to get people to hate the cheaters and playing the woe is me BS... Everyone still hates you!!! Fuk The PATS and every sports outlet that defends them and sux their clit. He should abort the idea right now!
I wouldn't want it any other way... The Jets were always the whipping boy, and one-liner jokes, and that could still happen... But right now? As Nicky Santoro would say "Fuck em, Fuck em all"
I haven't posted in a while. That being said, I hope everyone is doing well... Okay, If a prison team consisting of thieves and drug dealers played a football game against the Patriots, I would have no problem rooting for the convicted felons. If Tom Brady suddenly forgot how to play football and never won another game, I’d cheer. I know what it’s like to openly despise pro sports teams and athletes, and spend energy hating their every success and even their very appearance on my television screen. So in some respects, I feel bad for those fans who want to scream and tear their hair out every time they see Rex and the Jets win.hmy: On the other hand, it’s hilarious. Rex has become NFL version of the perfect “heel” – to borrow pro wrestling’s term for a bad guy who fans love to hate. He mocks those who boo him and the Jets. He suggests that those haters are just telling him he’s number one. It’s antagonizing, outrageous – and completely funny. The thing about Rex is this: He really doesn’t care if you hate him. At all. Go ahead, taunt him. Tell him the Jets sucks. You think he goes home at night and gets upset about it? Send him nasty letters, throw stuff at him from the stands and give him the finger. All you’re doing is fueling his fire, which lets him turn around and incense you even more. Rex, gives it right back. So what should you do if you hate Rex?!? Keep it up. Some people might dare suggest the approach of “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em." This is absolutely wrong. I could never root for New England Patriots in a million years. Even if they win multiple championships, I’ll still hate them just as much as ever – probably more. But when they slip up or fail, I’ll be right there waiting to cheer like crazy. That’s how any other fans should treat Rex and the Jets. If you hate him, go ahead. Let him frustrate you and get under your skin. That’s what makes sports worth caring about, and especially since Rex and the team doesn’t seem to be too affected by the haters, it’s mostly harmless. Just be prepared for some long days – and years – when the Jets win a championships. In some ways, this is only the beginning. Rex isn’t going anywhere, and there’s no chance he’ll suddenly go ice cold. And when you vent your frustration at the Jets, Rex might just soak up your boos with a smile and a bow. It’ll make you red in the face. Your hatred will take a firm commitment, while others around you eventually fold and decide they kind of like Rex after all. It’s a funny thing about those heels in wrestling – they might start out being loathed, but they eventually gain enough fans to become loved... Peace out
What it comes down to is this. He's a top notch defensive coach, and his organization is giving him top talent to work with. The bravado plays well with the players because his defenses are all about pressure and attacking. It worked for his old man in Chicago and Philly (though from a different alignment). If the Jets get enough offense, you'd have to think they can go a long way this year. Get used to ESPN loving your team, especially now that they're promoting the local version.
