Can some you guys come up with something a little more thoughtful then remarks about JLo and Marc Anthony? Be nice to have a debate about football. After all, that is what this is about right?
Hartline is white....which means you'll be trading him to the Pats after Welker expires there.
c'mon Ted....we all know JLo and Marc Anthony are integral parts of the Miami Dolphins franchise.....it's not totally off-topic.
Holmes- drug related issues, 4 game suspension.. former super bowl mvp coming off a 1248 yard season, 16 yards per reception. Trade cost: 5th round pick Brandon Marshall- numerous arrests, 11 times police had to come to his house for domestic abuse, DUI, 1100 yard season and 11.1 yards a reception, fought with coach and was banned from the team during training camp, was suspended the most important game of the season for Denver for insubordination. Trade cost: 2010 2nd round pick and 2011 2nd round pick + largest contract to a WR in the NFL. Check this out: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/otl/news/story?id=4216417 Hmmm.. Holmes obviously is a risk, but if he fails, we lost a 5th round pick and little money. If Marshall messes up again.. well... it would be a slightly bigger deal.
OK. Revis has trouble with speedy WRs, not tall. Marshall posted a 4.70 at the NFL pro day. That is not gonna give Revis any trouble. Marshall is good, and will get his receptions. His bread and butter is in the short passing game as he averages less than 10 yards a reception. Revis excels in that situation especially if the WR is not the fastest. Don't expect him to have a 25 receptions, 200 yard games against the Jets.
Revis wasn't on Jackson the whole game....Rex was moving him around....he was also on Gates and Floyd at times.
You fail again. Revis was targeted 4 times in that game, for 1 completion for negative yardage. The one time he was covering Jackson 1 on 1 and was thrown at, it was intercepted. Care to try again? Btw, the Jets held them to under 20 points.. the only time all season they were held to that. So obviously the defensive game plan was perfect and worked. Didn't matter what Jackson did.
He didn't get anything on Revis. Revis was all over the field in the game and Jackson got his numbers on other DBs. Please watch the games instead of simply reading box scores.
May want to research how many convictions and suspensions he has. His being suspended for any length of time if he gets in trouble is not automatic. On the other hand, Holmes likes to Twitter about "bake and wake." This after just being suspended for 4 games.
exactly rex even said he didn't see much a difference between jackson, and floyd, so he moved Revis around.
I watched the game. Rex had Revis covering Jackson not worrying about a #2 that won't produce they way Jackson can.
I won't dispute your argument that Holmes is a possible behavioral problem. But once again.....we gave up basically nothing to get him....and more importantly, we didn't sign him to a long term contract with 24 million guaranteed. your move, Ace.
In 2008 he was suspended 3 games which was reduced to 2. Then last year he had a team imposed suspension during their most important game of the season, which they lost. He pleaded guilty to DWI and was sentenced to a year probation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he's been arrested and suspended more times than Holmes? Like I said, Holmes is certainly a risk.. but if he messes up, it's really not a big deal for the Jets. What if Marshall beats his wife again, or fights with his coach, or gets another DWI, or gets hurt off the field and lies to the team about it, or.. the list goes on.
