One of the issues I have with Brady Quinn is... Brady Quinn. His whining to be the starting QB before he even logged significant time in training camp was a major red flag, in my mind.

The other red flag is the fact that a guy who was watching week 1 of the NFL sitting in his living room is now the starter for the Browns and kicking major ass (as far as recent Browns history is concerned.)

And this makes Brady Quinn -- an unknown, untested, unproven whining SOB commodity -- attractive? how?

I'm really not sure where this Brady Quinn whining stuff came from.

I'd be pretty pissed off if I was a top 5 pick that fell into the 20's. It's kind of hard to stick to the role everyone wants you to play when nobody else sticks to the script.

I didn't have the patience to read all the posts so forgive me if this was already mentioned. You do realize that Cleveland also runs a 3-4 defense. Why would they trade for Vilma when it is well known that his play suffered once we switched to the 3-4.

Life's a bitch, eh? Now exactly why should I feel sorry for the guy?

HELLO?! We have poor pass blocking, even poorer, in relative comparison than Notre Dame did in 06. Against faster teams like those in the NFL, he would get "rattled"...a lot.

? Jeff Sama----- would have been a first day draft pick. That is help from your receiver. All I ever heard when I caught ND games was how athletic he was, and he had the choice of playing either in the MLB or NFL, but he was only a small part of Quinn's success according to you.

You can keep "laughing your ass off" when I show you proof if you want, but I guess only time will tell.

I am not saying we go to war with the line we have now, thats crazy....We have holes at RT, LG and RG IMO.

Shark was a beast in college but baseball was always his first priority so its tough to judge what he could have done in the NFL as far as being an NFL WR as I am sure you know as well as I do that you have to have football as the top priority in your heart to succeed. He got alot of TDs and helped win us a couple of games, but Quinn also used guys like Fasano, McKnight, and Stovall too so it wasnt just Shark. Shark was unheard of until Weis came into town, Idk Willingham never used him.

and I dont mean to disrespect you or your opinion in any way what so ever in this thread....

You didn't know about the offensive line losing 3 of it's starters from last year...and you basically called all of those guys bad players, when at one point Ryan Harris was considered to be a first round talent at tackle. That tells me that you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to "your college team".

The O-line was pretty bad dude, or should I say inconsistent.....Ryan Harris got LAZY when with ND and let off in certain plays. You should know that was his major gripe heading to the draft. Darius Walker got no push from these bums as well in his senior year. He hasnt been great with the Broncos either.......He has the ability to be a very sound Olineman BUT he doesnt always play hard.

The Pass D and O-Line both hurt the 2006 Irish. Defenses like Mich, LSU, and USC ate the line alive.

This is besides the point but if you are out there playing a sport with all the effort that goes into it, your heart is in it. Quinn had tools on Offense to work with.

What do you want me to judge Quinn on besides the college game? That's why he got drafted, afterall. Looking at NFL.com, he played 3 preseason games pretty well, against the 2nd and 3rd string D. So did KC. Quinn is too unproven and not an obvious upgrade over anyone on the roster to trade anything of value to us for him.

We got David Harris 15th in the 2nd, our pick this year will probably be top 5 in that round. No one can argue his impact, and I have way more faith in the FO to find someone we truly need to be a good team than I have in Brady Quinn.

"Instead of trading for Quinn, we could've had..."

First he had no help that made him good, now you name all those players that helped him to disprove my point about Jeff Samama. My point this whole time is that we need help on the O-Line and D-Line, and that 2nd round pick or Vilma and a ___th would suit us better than trading for Quinn, because we could fill holes, instead of add competition.

KC's been at the job for 7 games.
I think he can handle anything just as well as Quinn could.

His intention wasnt to play football though, it was like a 2nd sport to him. Its like me being a basketball star but still loving to play football for the fun of it even though I am not serious enough to pursue a NFL career due to whatever.

I am not saying to deal for Quinn, I am supporting Clemens. I am not one of the irrational bashers of his, he will need some time like every young QB. But I feel Quinn is the better talent if both meet expectations and that Quinn's got the higher upside. You can judge him in the college level but we have to be fair though......Hes going to get his mechanics worked upon and will get taught some things like the speed of the NFL and what routes to read. So as he jumps to the next level of football, hopefully he will jump to the next level of his play.

I am a bigger fan of Quinn than Woodson, Brohm or Ryan but I am guessing Im in the minority.........

He didnt get that much help compared to a Leinart though. Each of those guys I named in that post did well but its a two way street. They helped Quinn but its Quinn who fed them the ball too. None of those WR's "Made" Quinn though.

And I never said to DO the deal......when did I ever say I want the deal. I said I wont cry if a deal happens though, but I like the 2nd round pick and Vilma.....

I meant if we got McFadden, we're not going to keep all 3 RBs.
