So it looks like Miles Austin was the real deal after all.

I'm happy with Braylon Edwards, but remember this thread happened before any of this.

It's looking like Shonn Greene is the real deal too, so it really isn't that big of a deal that we passed on trading for Austin.

    Great pick up by Parcells...

The fact that the Jets were interested in Austin shows that Tanny does have an eye for talent. Or is it T. Bradway?

I don't know if it's been posted but Austin attended Garfield High which was the same school that produced Jet legend Wayne Chrebet. Both have similar stories as they played at small schools and both were UDFA. Austin seems to be coming into his own as a very good WR.

^ Whenever he was smiling like that yesterday, I was wondering what a Miles Austin Moutheyes would look like.

Austin surprised me, he is definitely making a case for being a solid starter in this league. We'll see if he can do it with any consistency.

    Are you serious?

Damn as good as Greene is imagine if we had Austin?

However, if we got him I'm sure Schotty would have found a way to ruin him lol

You're saying Miles Austin is the best wide receiver in the NFL?

Austin is good, but he's not even a top 10 WR as of right now.

Im not ready to consider him the best at his position yet (maybe once he puts together couple of yrs similar to this one, 1000+ yards in 10 games since he started with 10 TDs in em), but I certainly will admit I was wrong about him along with maybe 90% other fans. He has been a pleasant surprise in Dallas after TO was dumped.

But if we went ahead and picked up Miles, he would have had KC (or maybe Freeman?) throwing him the ball and the pickup would have been a terrible one. The only other way we would have had Sanchez if we had traded the entire draft to Mangini for his 5th overall.

Miles Austin hasn't been signed to a new contract yet. Jerry has to be insane to not sign him though. However, as things stand right now, Miles will be a FA after the season. If Jerry isn't able to sign him, and we arent able to sign Edwards, we should definitely take our chances. He may even be better than Edwards since he won't drop the ones that hit him in between the eyes. Between the eyes and still a drop? WTF??? Anyways, Miles won't reach the FA IMO and if he does, he'll probably demand a 7 yr $100 mil contract in the uncapped yr. What a great year to be a FA in. Miles holds all the cards here but Jerry does have the cash to throw at him.

Yeah I'm glad we have Sanchez and Greene instead of Miles Austin and Josh Freeman.

He can make a case for it. 1050+ yards, 10 TDs in his 10 games since he became the starter. 5-100 yard games. Beat the NO secondary for 139 yards and a TD. Beat Nmadi for 145 yards in Chokeland. 104 against the Giants. 171 against Atlanta (I like this one) and of course, 250 against KC.

That is an impressive resume. With only 10 out of 14 starts, he is ranked 4th in the NFL in yards, 1st in TDs, 1st in 20+ yard plays, 1st in 40+ yard plays, 1st in YAC (nearly twice as many as number 2nd), 2nd in YPC (min 40). All this while he didn't start the first 4 games (5 rec, 81 yards, 1TD).
