All the Jets fans out there....We need to just pack into a room roll like mad blunts and just pass them around...and Chilllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
our wr's looked good against the Titans. but if im not mistaken, next year is a no cap year with a strike looming the following year. and their are a couple of WR's available.we can cut coles and not have to worry about a cap hit. T.J. Houshmandzadeh chad johnson anquan boldin ( i thought) also de julius peppers
Well, you would lose a step too if you were double and triple teamed on every play. Check out the tape on Coles with Denver -- why do you think there was no safety close enough to stop that "Speed Demon", no. 20, on that 59 yard jaunt to the end zone...? Being a receiver in the NFL is about how you run your routes and beating your man -- not with speed but with guile, and communication with your QB. If all we needed was a faster WR, don't you think that David Clowney would have been activated by now? I guess everybody thinks that the NYJ CS is asleep at the wheel. It's impressive when you see a WR running free and uncontested, but that only happens in the back yard and in pre-season. Take it for what it's worth: Coles and Cotchery are two of the very best route runners in the NFL today. One on one they regularly beat their man. Brett needs enough time so that he can use multiple alternatives. This frees up all your targets, and especially helps your best route runners. We got beat soundly in the secondary on Sunday because we were doubling Royal and Marshall most of the time, and the LBs had a hard time with those two tight ends. Also, it didn't help that they had this 250 lb fullback to send blasting out of the backfield about 3 feet off the ground behind his pads. But this is tackle football, right?
Without Burress, the Giants would not have won the SB. I watched the games. He singlehandedly beat Green Bay. There's really no debate about it. I agree they have the best OL in football, and last year a great pass rush, too. But on O Shockey was inconsistent, and without Burress they would have seen Toomer getting doubled a lot. Burress gave them what they needed to win in the playoffs. Your point about him being hurt in the regular season completely ignores what he did in the playoffs.
I think the Long Island born Clowney deserves a shot. He's the quickest WR we have (4.36 40) and we need to try to stretch the field more.
Well, until this year the Jets also lacked a number 1 QB too so what did it matter who was running around out there missing the ball? Don't expect to fix everything in one year.
True, and no doubt one reason the Jets do not have a burner wideout is because that would have been wasted with you know who at Qb.
When was Moss last here? 4 years ago? And what did he do here that made us want to dump him so badly?
Was Moss' talents wasted w/ Chad? NO. he was very good for us and we didn't want to dump him badly, he wanted a new contract and he wasn't a durable player for us. It's the same reason we traded Abe and Chad, talent wise they were great but they couldn't stay healthy.
He was never hurt that I can remember. And wasn't that before Pennington had his two shoulder injuries? I mean, what's the point here?
You have a bad memory. He missed almost all of his rookie season and always had hamstring problems or something that limited him. Chad got hurt in '04 and Moss was still very effective when healthy- remember that perfect throw over 2 SD defenders to Moss in the WC game?
Moss was hampered a bit in his last year. His catches were down about 40% from the year before, and he missed one game completely, didn't start another.
Moss always has some sort of injury to his legs. This year was no different. He has not done anything since his injury. Think Abraham as a wideout. This is why both were moved out.
Boldin is signed through 2010. It is possible Boldin could ask for a trade in the offseason, as he did this past summer.
