I wouldn't mind adding him as a "depth with high upside" type of guy. I don't want this guy slated for an important role before the season starts. Of course this is if we sign him.
i think the team can go for a wr in free agency and grab someone like amaro in the 1st rd. in fact that might be the best option
What do you guys think about kicking the tires for Hester. That will nail the return position for us plus some crazy one off plays on offense.
Been really high on Hawkins for awhile. He can help on offense in the slot as well as on gadget plays.Deadly in open space. Hes also a very good st gunner.would be a great addition
Why in the world would you want Amaro? Can't block, is stiff and not very fast, and his production is way overinflated by playing in a spread offense where he was never covered. I wouldn't take him before the 4th round, and even then there'd have to be no one else I liked before I took him.
Why are we intrested in other peoples trash all the time. Its like when you throw your garbage out and there's always some weird guy looking thru it,That's the NY Jets
Guy has two highlight videos and everyones drooling like there watching Jerry Rice in his prime.50 mill in cap space after cuts and this is the guy were looking at?
So you want the Jets to not sign anyone in free agency then. Since they are all someones else's trash?
Why is a player automatically trash because he hits free agency? In your theory Byrd is trash, TJ Ward is trash, etc. Sometimes you find a diamond in the rough when you sign a guy who was released by another team due to cap situations. Look at David Nelson last season. We picked him up and he did a solid job for us and helped us with a completely depleted receiving corp. Players are not always cut because they suck. They are usually let go because that team is not willing to pay them money due to other priorities.
Why is the guy trash?? He's a 3rd-4th receiver on a team that is loaded with offensive weapons like Eifert, Gresham, AJ Green, Sanu, etc. Apperantly, Cincy wants to keep him and not just discard him if the price is right but they can't pay everybody. We desperately need playmakers with some speed on this offense and he's made a few plays in his limited snaps. It can't hurt to see if the price is right for him. This interest gives us a little window into how Idzik does business. Identify some talent that might not be playing as much because a team's depth chart is deep at a particular position. This is similar to the Ivory situation and that worked out well for Idzik. NO had a plethora of backs and couldn't keep them all and got some fvalue back. Same here with Cincy and their receiving corps.
Sometimes I wonder how many receivers you guys think we are going into games with... Everybody wants to sign everybody but not let anyone go...
First of all, I would take this rumor with a grain of salt. The guys (Bassett & Steiny) who put it out there are the same dolts who guaranteed the Jets were going to hire Tom Gamble for the GM position last year. if you want iron clad, trustworthy news bites about our practice squad or if you want a signed football from Ricky Sapp, then Steiny is your guy.
My question is: How likely is it that Cinci matches an offer; or, what is the highest they will match to keep him?
