Hello Jetophile, I never left, I just haven't posted...kind of got pissed off when they decided to leave Hofstra...to become the Jersey Jets!

Thanks xxedge72x...also one of the oldest posters!

Rich Caster was a shame, he was faster than most WR's but seemed to drop every other bomb Joe Willie threw him, he cost Joe dearly in his career stats....

I remember having a love/hate thing with Caster when I was a kid because of that. Actually I hated him until he caught a TD bomb from Joe to beat the Dolphins at Shea once, then it was love/hate. Didn't he and Barkum switch positions at one point?

I believe your right Seafood, Barkum also played WR in his career...

Jerome Barkum for me just because of that OT catch (or maybe it was last seconds of the game) in the end zone from Todd. I spilt my hot chocolate all over my lap. My first really good jets memory.

As Jets fans we'll always be gluttons for punishment. I find it ironic that your first GOOD memory of the Jets includes you scolding your body with hot coffee. FEEL THE BURN!!! yyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss

Gaines, Barkum, Owens. Great football names.

Anyway, I just have to say this. Seeing Wesley Walker in motion, catching off his opposite shoulder in stride because he was blind in one eye was a thing of beauty. C'mon. Sweet.

During my time as a Jet fan, I would have to pick Mickey Shuler.

One of my alltime favorite Jets.

Caster played TE 5 of the 8 years he was with the Jets. He played WR the other 3. He also played WR for two years at Houston after he left NY. I never thought he was all that bad. He had 3 800+ yard seasons with the Jets and one year also had 10 TDs. There were a lot worse than him.

Good info, thanks. I don't remember him going to Houston, but that sounds vaugely familiar. I remember he and little Eddie Bell, #7, at WR my first couple years watching.

Yeah, powder blue mess. And that is Rich Caster.

EDIT: This looks sooooooo much better. Hmmm, what's that smell? A new avatar perhaps.

Haha, what's that game vs. the Raiders that I STILL always think Namath and Caster are going to pull out?

He's also frugal. He's using a jock for a chin-strap. Waste not, want not.

I got Rich Caster's chin strap after a game in '76. Threw it up into the stands while walking off in glory. True story.
