Zero reality chance the Manning family signs off on the kid going to the other NY team lol. I'd argue that even more then I'd argue Deion now I'm good with the best of the rest in a pretty deep class though, and not having to root for a Manning.
I'm with you there. The Manning's will have Arch "retire" DURING the draft before they let that kid anywhere near a Woody Johnson owned team. You can write that shit down in marble, granite, whatever! No way in hell that kid ends up in green and white. Having said that, if I'm reading the tea leaves correctly and, barring any unforeseen injuries, the 2 QB's getting drafted this year would be like QB's 5 and 6 or lower in next year's draft. So, let the Manning's be prima donna's and the Jets can pick up one of the other studs if/when Fields shits the bed this year.
Why have you been here so long and not learned that Woody Johnson or his heirs will own this team until they decide to sell it regardless of anything that happens on the field?
Old money rich people live forever. Our kid's kids will likely be complaining about Brick and how his meddling ways are running the team into the ground
I dont think so the new trend is to generate cash by selling out chunks of your team. Woody is just too dumb to catch on, never an "early adopter" but he will catch on soon. His son will ramp it up after Woody dies. By 2040 the Jets will have 100s of owners and not one individual we can blame
I see AR is jerking the Steelers around like he did us. I am surprised the Steelers put themselves in this situation as they're supposed to be one of the premier organizations and now they have to kiss AR's ass. Not a good look especially since they saw this scenario play out with the Jets.
I read somewhere today that his numbers from last season were the 3rd best put up by a Jets QB, please tell me this isn't true? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/american-football/articles/cjw2n6nwy8eo "In his lone full campaign with the team, Rodgers had the third-best single-season totals in franchise history, which consisted of 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns."
he played 17 games in his season though. The other quarterbacks played 16 or 14. It’s important to recognize that because the 17th game was meaningless and he threw 4 TDs. In a standard 16 game season Rodgers threw 24 TDs which is 8th in franchise history. Behind studs like Al Dorow, Richard Todd and Mark Sanchez.
Its all relative as they used to say. AR had a better season than most Jet QB's but if you look at those Jet QBs, you'd realize that that's really not much of a milestone.
Oh it's true. It's SO TRUE that, pre-Rodgers when I was hoping they brought in Derek Carr, I went and did some research. Did you know that EVERY single season Derek Carr had in Raiderland was STATISTICALLY better than every Jet QB, EVER! Something like that. It's worthless data but I'll go dig it up if I feel like wasting time. The Jets have NEVER had decent QB play. Ever! That includes St. Namath as well. It's kind of hilarious, if you think about it. We absolutely vilified Rodgers yet he did exactly what we all hoped he would do. He played QB pretty damn well, in 2024, for a Jets QB that is... Just sad...
