This might be the dumbest post I've ever read in my 14 years at this site.

Maybe if clowns like Trumaine Johnson had given a damn they might have saved his job. Reminds me of the Knicks and Stu Jackson....all the black players said "we want a black guy, tired of the same old white guys"......Knicks hired Jackson....then the players gave half-efforts, missed practices, dissension, etc.

Stue got fired and the players said he got a raw deal.

I’m not a Trump fan, but man that is a hot take. I don’t see how that’s going to be a thing considering Johnson was one of the few owners to support their players over the anthem shenanigans.

The picking of players...I mean I'm sure Bowles had a say in the players and getting them to fit his scheme. But it seems like Bowles may not be a good evaluator of talent. Coaches have a say in picking the roster too, those guys are at pro days and are studying collegiate players. He also picked the wrong assistants around him. His staff seemed weak and he didn't seem to be a good talent evaluator. Mind you Bowles lined up Sheldon as a LB, he had his talented 3-4 end DT's play as NT, consistently had corners not playing to what they do best. I could go on.

This next coach needs to be in tune with scheme, what he wants and to have strong assistants and coordinators. Maybe the best scheme is a 4-3 ...I don't know I'm just guessing here. With cap space and a franchise QB, let's see who comes begging to lead this team.

I keep hearing McCarthy to the Browns rumors. Nothing solid, just twitter banter thus far.

Browns are high on Greg Williams looks like Mayfield is comfortable with him as his headcoach.

Williams was never a front-runner and pretty much sealed his fate today with some pretty poor coaching decisions.
Reports are the Browns won't even mandate the new HC keep him as DC and Kitchens as OC

I really like Bowles. I saw first hand what a terrific DC he was in AZ. He had his chance here and it didn't work. Some guys aren't cut out to be the Head Coach. Teams that usually fire their head coaches have a huge amount of other problems that will hamper a Head coach. It's very tough for dysfunctional teams to turn around a program with a new coach. Most of them will be overwhelmed by the losing culture the team has developed which invariably effects the entire organization.

There's no magic bullet. We're starting over and we will find out if it's the Head Coach or the player personal department run by the GM in a couple of years. If the Ravens really want to move on from Harbaugh I would trade first round picks with them and give him a big pile of cash and a lot of control. Obviously we're going to have to wait for him. That might play out in our favor if we don't make a panic move.

    Hallelujah!

Should have done this 16 games ago ..put in Interim Coach

DWS , SolidGoldBowles will go the way of the Genobots...ahahahaha...never have spend anymore energy arguing there

Time to make some smart decisions...with Macagnan and Johnson???? God help us

Get Harbaugh or get the other Harbaugh...go for the Gold..end the 50 year BS and 8 year wasteland

McCarthy Lincoln Riley are sloppy seconds..This Job should now be fairly attractive with talent set

We need someone really good with experience please

Like Biggs just said ...owner can't be impulsive..wait till Playoffs are done to up the Quality of candidates

Chris Johnson couldn't or wouldn't clean house this year, but if Macc fcks up this offseason, nothing says he doesn't walk the plank in 2020.

I think 2020 could possibly be a year where his seat gets drastically warmer, but I think he gets 3-4 years at minimum with HIS Coach if he doesn't turn this thing around.

What's wrong is Your criteria for Coach and GM

Both Mac and Toilet were rookies at their jobs and they stunk it up

Look at what Cleveland did>>>>>Dorsey a long time experienced former GM...putting together a winning team for Browns

The only thing better than a Vet HC would be to find a young innovative guy like McVay from LA or Matt Nagy (Chicago)

this has turned into a low information thread. LOL.

seriously - the coaching prospects are somewhat slim and i think we should get ready for another newbie.

Well, to be fair, Cimini doesn’t specify the jobs for which Bowles might interview. Could be ditch digger, mime, librarian, zoo keeper, forum moderator ;)

That’s called protecting your FQB in the last 14 minutes of a game you have ZERO chance to come back in. That might have been Bowles and Bates’s best decisions as coaches.

As he should, he was speaking 100% factually. We don't have the talent, nor the players that leave it all on the field. We have a few nice pieces, but not enough to seriously play on a playoff level. When you consistently miss on picks from rounds 1-4, your roster never gets over the hump.

Jets will have 100+ million in cap space, but will have a ton of positions to fill, which is why I don't get the Johnson's undying trust in Maccagnan. He's a middle of the pack GM, Jets need a star

    Totally disagree,
It was a ridiculous decision, that was basically a commercial for why Bowles shouldn't be coaching an NFL team.
It wasn't about winning the game. It should have been about giving Darnold as many opportunities as possible to throw the football and score this season. He did the same exact thing on several other occasions throughout the year. He just did it last week, when we SHOULD have won the damn game. If you're so worried about protecting him, and you're not going to let him try to make a couple of plays downfield, you may as well pull him and let McCown finish the game.

Trump a racist? If anything, his history shows the exact opposite. Stop listening to fake news.
