Yeah its so crazy.... Why don't you tell me whats so crazy about it genius???? You think the Jets are going to fire the best HC they have had in over 10 yrs b/c he refuses to pay a BS fine over a flipped bird at an MMA event??? That would be pretty much the stupidest manuever ever by the Jets. Even the Jets wouldn't be dumb enough to fire Rex. And he did nothing wrong. He should tell them to stick their fine where the sun don't shine.

If he refused the fine, the NFL would simply step in and do it themselves. I thought this was already established? If they weren't already considering it, why would they make a public statement saying they wouldn't pursue the issue once they saw the Jets took action?

And Abdul, he DID violate the NFL personal conduct policy, simply because it's sufficiently vague. Read it word for word:
Even if he was spit at, if the NFL decided that they still thought the middle finger or his statements were inappropriate, Rex is found guilty and given a fine. Nobody said the policy is fair, it's clearly at the discretion of Goodell and his panel, but Rex agreed to these rules when he took the job. There's no way he's winning any lawsuits and he'd be a fool to try if he values his job at all.

Can you name any profession where a boss wouldn't fire his employee for insubordination?

    A) He wasn't insubordinate to anybody.
    B) If Tannenbaum wants to fire him that would certainly be an interesting career decision for Mr. T to make. Yeah lets fire the best coach we've had since Tuna b/c he flipped a bird at some drunken idiot who had spit on him at a frikking wrestling match.

    C) There is nothing that he did that violated the NFL personal conduct policy unless Roger Goodell is now going to interpret that policy as a license for Goodell to run around issuing fines to every person connected w/the NFL who drops an F bomb, spits, curses or flips a bird. There would be a lot of fucking fines levied its thats the case since players, coaches, managers, trainers, scouts and GMs engage in that stuff pretty much every day of the week.

Show me an instance where a player/coach of a current NFL team flipped the bird, which was caught on either video or picture, where the player wasn't fined.

Just checking to make sure you still cannot follow logic.

If he doesn't pay the fine, it's insubordination. As for the rest, see Steve032's post.

Pretty sure the fine will be deducted from his pay - he won't have a choice not to pay.

I'm pretty sure that starting 24 hours after the fine is deducted from Rex's pay, he will come into a few payments that equal approximately 50k, over the next few months - from various sources that can probably be loosely associated with the Johnson & Johnson corporation.

This fine was just for show, to avoid the NFL taking any face-saving action, and genius AbdulSalaam up there is too much of a dimbulb to understand that.

Maybe if he took the level of umbrage over his own stupidity rather some pointless argument over a fine that even the person fined is likely laughing at, he might have some hope of getting a little smarter.

finally, someone who understands how these things work.

There is ZERO chance that Rex isn't somehow reimbursed for this fine.

I think Jet fans should start a collection and pay the fine for him, it'll be a great show of support and a double fuck you to Phin fans.

Who the fuck has the money to donate for it? This economy is shit. He'll get a speaking fee covered at some SUNY commencement or J&J and it'll be covered. When the team disciplines from within on something this retarded, they usually take care of it from within to keep the NFL thinking they give a shit when they don't. Common fucking sense.

I guess you're completely missing the point. If you've read the thread you'd realize there's absolutely no need to take up a collection for Rex. The guy isn't starving and it will be taken care of anyway.

I guess you are missing my point, I know Rex is not poor.

It would be a funny and great show of support if Jet fans did this, that's all I was saying.

    Do you understand???
