1,000 yards each is possible if our running game lives up to it's potential. If the DEF has to concentrate on containing Jones and Washington (and our TEs), that should open up opportunities for our WRs. I expect Clemens to settle down somewhat too, behind our revamped O-line. If they can give him just a hair more time, that should help his timing and confidence levels and allow him to make better decisions. I'm pumped for the season to start, but then again, I always say that every year. Christ... the disappointments have been painful.
I wouldn't expect Chad Fans to agree, but of course he was the main reason the team did so poorly last year. Clemens took arguably a worse team (whatwith Coles hurt and the team out of the playoff hunt) and won nearly half the time, and would have won more than that but for a few dropped balls. Meanwhile Chad could do no better than one win in nine chances. And oh yea remember all those pick sixes? Anyway... On Wilfork and the open position at Cb. Hey I would love to have faith in Mangini on filling this position, but with the exception of drafting Revis the Cb's on this team have sucked for quite some time. Credit the FO with getting Revis. I will be pleasantly surprised if the other slot we get a good performance out of whoever lands the spot.
1300 to 1500 yards is a lofty goal, especially if Cotch gets double-covered as a result of a possible injury to Coles. For your scenario to have a chance....the run game has to be superb, Stuckey or whoever emerges as the 3rd receiver needs to step up their game to relieve pressure off of Cotchery, and our starting QB needs to have the time in the pocket to make the reads instead of running for his life. All 3 of things didn't happen last season. For Cotch to grab 1500 yards without Coles on the field....I believe these 3 aspects need to improve.
