PUNCTUATION It ain't just for expressing your emotions, ya dig? An example of how punctuation can benefit you in even the more casual situations:
Because TJ has a limited shelf life remaining and Leon Washington Has an enormous up side that you definitely don?t want a rival or anywhere else in the NFL. The plans are set! TJ will play out his contract and maybe be resigned for normal wages or he will go else where and definitely not receive what he's looking for. Its up to him! You signed it , now play it out.
I think Leon should be in camp, but I also understand what he is upset about. Washington is a game changer. Every time he touches the ball he can bust it. He was one of the leading total yard guys in the NFL. He is also young. He is a very valuable player for the Jets. Thomas is a little better then average RB, who is 30 YO. His replacement is already on the team. He has 0 leverage. That's why he's back in camp. He is due a 3 million dollar roster bonus next season. He won't see it.
You obviously fail to grasp the nuances of the players' respective positions if you are really suggesting this. Simple language: -TJ already got paid due to the front-loaded contract which he has lived up to. Not exceeded, not failed, but lived up to. Now he wants to get more than his fair share. -Leon is playing under his rookie contract which pays him next to nothing for what he brings to the team. He deserves more money, and figures to be a staple of this franchise for years to come. He deserves his fair share. Any questions?
I fully expect them to get a deal in place before the beginning of training camp. I can't think of a scenario where this gets bitter.
These guys should automaticlly have to forefit the remainder of thier contract if they hold out. It's total bullshit that these athletes are under contract and totally disregard this. If management decided to withold $ because of a down year for a player or keep a player off the field that has playtime incentives to raise his pay the union would blow a gasket and never let it happen. Why is it different for ownership as opposed to players? I have no respect for players like Washington. Missing voluntary workouts is one thing, but when it's mandetory and you stay away that's plain bullshit. Much respect to Jones for showing up.
It does suck that they hold out but it may not turn out to be a bad thing. Has he officially held out yet? Or does an official hold out start at training camp. Anyway, if we renegotiate now we could get him to sign at a value below what the market will dictate if he were to become a FA.
Quoted for emphasis. Washington has outplayed his rookie contract and still has 5-6 potentially great years ahead of him. Jones is 31, he has never been a special back, he is a solid downhill runner. However, Shonn Greene has the potential to be the same type of back, with better vision and hits the hole with even more conviction.
I don't think the mandatory OTA's start until like June 9th. I'm pretty sure these are "volentary" work outs. There hasn't been an official hold out yet.
there is ALWAYS a double standard on this board. if keller were holding out right now everyone would say he is the greatest te in nfl history and deserves a raise.... and they would all be wrong. but that wont stop them. dont worry a couple years from now it will be leons turn to get bashed everyday by all our wonderful fans. i think every day is a good day to get a raise. and any day is a good day to ask for one. anybody who has EVER asked for a raise or told their boss they deserve more during a review should really stfu and stop complaining because they "want" something.
