This thread should have ended after this post. We need a mod who can keep an eye on the 57 new threads created every minute after a loss.

    Here's Our Problem In A Nutshell ...

On the surface our defense seems to be dominant, but it has one GLARING weakness that must be addressed in the draft... Our inablilty to get pressure and sacks from our D-line. We don't have a D-lineman in the TOP 20 in sacks. You just can't have a truly dominat defense without that.

Its a passing league ... ALL the rules are written to favor the offense. You can't ask the secondary to come up big time after time after time, when all the rules are written to put them at a disadvantage. Every once in a while, and ESPECIALLY on the last drive of the game, the line needs to come up with big sacks to end a drive. We NEVER do that.

That's why we lose games in the final minutes, and teams like Miami or Denver are able to pull them out. You can't always rely on blitzing and games to get pressure. I love our D ... but we DESPERATELY need a pure pass rusher who can generate pressure and sacks from the line.

anyone that has anything bad to say about the defense can go fuck themselves. sanchez had yet another mediocre, turnover filled game against an absolutely awful secondary. the genius coaching staff thought that going for FGs was the play despite it being obvious that those clowns couldnt execute an extra point at that point in the game.

Both sides are right, yes the Jets D should have stepped up...but come fucking on I dont know how they played well so long they got almost no rest because we were going 3 and out every single time Sanchez did not turn the ball over and we missed 3 scoring opportunities. Ultimately there is little to blame the D for

Tebow will not be a QB in the pros. Sanchez is miles better than Tebow.

For myself ... I'm not "blaming" the defense ... they played great. But if you need to stop a modern offense on 4 consecutive plays to hold on to the game, you NEEEEEED a guy or two who can line up and flat-out rush the passer. We don't have that.

cant blame the D at all this game they came to play... the stalled out running game and missing field goals cost us to me sanchez played like sanchez so shouldnt of relied on him

"IF" there is a glaring weakness on our defense, its our linebackers inability to play pass coverage. harris let gonzales loose and he scored the game winner as leonard came to help harris a little late. this loss is entirely on the offense, and mostly sanchez. his decision making processes suck in a major way. if he doesnt learn to make better decisions we will never get where we want to go!

If he brings his style to the NFL and is allowed to play it he will be one head injury after another until he's done. 3 years tops.

imo, you are exactly right...tebow stinks as a pro style qb. he might suffice on a team that runs a version of the wildcat or something like it where the qb runs more than he passes. me and my nephew (who is a major tebow lover) have argued for two years over his play at qb. he loves kentucky's football team and also thought that andre woodson would be a lottery pick and eventually an all-pro qb......i said that woodson would never be a pro qb that contributes on the team that did pick him up as a free agent(i also said he wouldnt be drafted, and i was wrong as he was drafted in the 6th round i believe),and i have hit that on the head. i tried to prove to him that tebow doesnt have a pro qb arm, and we sat down and timed his passes from the point of release, the distance it traveled, and when it was touched by the reciever. his average for the game was a full second behind other qb's that we watched on that sunday's nfl games. his 40 yard passes hang like they have been punted. pro qb's throw 40 yard passes that arrive at the reciever in less than 4 seconds, tebows rarely do. we also took in consideration the type of pass that was intended to be thrown. its easy to see when a qb winds up to throw a laser, or when they intend to put touch on the football, which is another major thing that he lacks.

yep! he wont bowl over linebackers in the pros like he does in college...he will learn very fast, if he isnt slapped with a career ending injury early.

The Jets D is hardly the problem. The Jets are one of the worst passing teams in the NFL.

the stupidity while amusing to a point is pushing it in this thread. you would rather the jets give up 600 yards but make the game winning stop? if the jets gave up 600 yards there would be no chance for a game winning stop.

p.s. if the offense and special teams do their job the defense does not even need to worry about stopping a game winning drive fucking idiots.

and what i cant understand is we have a good running game which should aid the passing game. its hard not to place the blame on sanchez alone (considering his int numbers), but we do need a killer slot man, better pass protection, maybe another tight end who can catch, and as bad as i hate to eat my words on schotty, a more conventional passing system rather than all those silly wr bubble screens and shitty play calls like that.

You are right. Some people lose focus on how an effective offense not only scores but sustains drives to rest your defense. We gave Atlanta to many opportunities to score because of our being ineffective on offense. The special teams did not help either, but there were still opportunities to win the game with a good time consuming drive.

What happened to our league leading rushing attack. You do realize we lead in TOP and had 3 fg attempts. Sanchez put the only points on the board with a perfect bomb. What happened to that great league leading rushing attack that averaged about 3 yards a carry on over 30 carries and more multiple chances to take control of the game than Atlanta had?
