Since we believe that this team has no depth anywhere, how do people feel Eric Smith as a backup? I feel he is decent depth, I mean this guy should in no way be starting, but I think if God forbid one of our safetys got injured then Eric Smith could fill in adequately. Perhaps in this new system Eric Smith "gets it" and he could be a pleasant surprise this year.
Are you new around Jetsland? First of all, he was drafted by Mangini, not Herm. Second of all, that wasn't a cheap shot on Boldin. It was an unfortunate turn of events involving 3 players. Boldin himself admits that. Third, if you're gonna post around here, get your facts straight or turn off your keyboard.
How is Ryan not supposed to quantify a player's current performance and skills without going back to what got him here in the first place? I don't see it as an issue unless he compairs Kellen Clemens and Mark Sanchez to Dilfer.
First off, am I new around Jetland? No. Second, no "drafted by Mangini" contention was even made (that part of your post was really wierd) Third, wanning moments of the game--helmet to helmet. My take on it; an opinion, nothing more, nothing less; get over it (and yourself). You pal for whatever reason (maybe my limited number of posts gave you, the big phuckin' know-it-all some skewered sense of entitlement to jump ugly on me, whatever), but in any event, when you actually have something of substance beyond an opinion to shove in my face as "ordained fact," then bring it junior, otherwise put a sock in it tough guy....
He was drafted by Mangini. This right here makes it sound 'wierdly' like you think he played for Herm. He didn't.
There you go. I'm glad Smith is having a good camp and got Ryan's attention. It can't hurt his confidence and, as you say, you just know somebody's going to go down at some point, so it's nice to know Smith will be ready to go in and at least cover.
