Besides Freeman, all good choices here.

was hoping Arenas would be a punt returner option.
Powell may have earned a spot last night instead tho..

Posey has got to be an attempt at the end around, a gem hidden in the floatsam.

I'm surprised there isn't more talk in here. I thought Posey would stick too, but it isn't all that shocking.

3 GM's in 4 years will make the cut list look a bit strange from various perspectives. That's just how the business works. Mac is not remotely invested in the guys that Tannenbaum and Idzik picked. He has no relationship at all to the most influential people in the personnel department of those two regimes who are no longer with the Jets.

I expect the cut down to 53 to include several people that most people would consider likely to make the roster at this point.

With how many corners we have he didn't have a great chance. I think Powell did earn a spot last night with Evans heading to the PS ours or elsewhere.

true.. Arenas was playing primarily FS last game tho, so i liked his versatility and familiarity with Bowles scheme.
but mainly, i just wanted an explosive PR.

whatever we do going forward, no more PR's by Decker please...

    No Way!
I know it won't happen but nothing says old school bad ass D lineman then a 60's or 70's number.

Like the Steel Curtain LC Greenwood #68, Ernie Holmes #63, Mean Joe Green #75, Dwight White #78

This. Enunwa is a pretty good blocker blocker, pretty big and can play H-Back if needed. No reason to hold onto a TE who drops balls and can't block.

i could see them keeping 8 if enunwa becomes a te/hb, also cut the fb and carry 3 rbs will open up an extra spot

Dammit I wish he were 2 inches taller and 20 lbs heavier.

But he's damn fast and can block.

    Such as?

I think you're right, I'm just curious who you see getting cut.

Freeman is already gone. I think Dozier is gone, and Aboushi may be gone, depending upon what they think of Harrison.

I don't know about these cuts, but next year this time, barring a dramatic turnaround I think Coples, Cumberland, and possibly Demario Davis and Jace Amaro are gone. Milliner and McDougle could be gone as well if they can't stay healthy and/or show that they can produce on the field. Pryor better step it up as well, or he could be gone next too. Giacomini could be gone. Kerley could be gone.

The John Idzik draftees are not sleeping well at night.

I have thought the same thing--they might move him to the packers with jordie hurt--kerley made a nice TD catch against the pack last year which was called back because sheldon called timeout.

Didn't want to start a new thread but why is Decker returning punts? We have no one better, and the injury possibility makes it seem like a bad move.

Evans could potentially be eligible for the practice squad but I would like to see them cut Kerley loose.

    It's really very strange.

Mac must have seen something in him, he was such an obscure player and Mac traded for him on draft day.

And he does seem to have chemistry with Petty.

Hopefully he makes it to the PS and he and Petty rekindle next year.

Just for this year I don't think Brian Winters, Dexter McDougle, Tommy Bohanon or Jeff Cumberland are locks at this point.

Any of those guys could get beat out in a numbers game because the new regime wants to keep a player it found and they're not impressed with the guy above.

Most of them wil make it but I wouldn't be shocked if one or two didn't.

They can't afford to take the resulting hit it would create by cutting him.
