And the last time McKnight did that, he broke a tackle and had a 12 yard run. Greene was shoe string tackled on his way to the nearest strip club.

Having McKnight at CB for one week while Greene and Powell continue to average 2.5 YPC, and then switching him back proves this management doesn't know what the hell it's doing. Obviously there's no plan.

Having McKnight at CB for one week was largely insignificant. Fans love to make a big deal over nothing though. He was still available to take carries at RB if they wanted him to.

I really don't get there obsession with Greene. The guy hasn't shown anything during a game for a long time. He must look like Jim Brown at practice or something.

They must not trust McKnight with ball security or pass protection. Why else wouldn't he play? Oh that's right, Shonn Greene is Jim Brown.

The reason players like Ryan so much is his loyalty to players. Problem is I think he put loyalty and belief over what is on film. If he didn't davis would be in for Scott and Powell would be in for Greene. McKnight would be your pass catching outlet out of the backfield.

Hopefully these two days of soul searching involve the coaches saying we need to shake things up a bit on offense and not limit discussion to more tebow?

You folks are missing the point. The mere fact that a head coach would suddenly turn a running back into a cornerback in the NFL, and then flip back a week later, is a startling example of Rex Ryan's ineptitude.

There was nothing sudden about it. He had taken CB snaps for a few years. Having guys who can play multiple positions is a good thing. Belichick does it all the time.

I really don't see the big deal. Hes played corner before. or let's say he has rushed the passer from the corner position. This time they made some big announcement. I feel sorry for mcnight actually. I think he can be a productive back. But only SANCHEZ is allowed to have a billion chances.

It could be hey we don't have another corner back this week and McKnight isn't stepping foot on the field on offense. I am going to have him rush the passer next week and see how we look as a defense.

Okay -- keller is coming back, I can cut Epps, free up a roster spot, and our background check on Berry is complete.

To me it shows his ability to think outside the box -- if not a lot just a little.

Now he has to take a hard look and every position and do what is best for the team not what is best to make him the most liked coach in the room.

The problem with this multiple RB solution is if you have a guy who only goes up the middle (greene) and a guy who takes the sweeps and screens (McKnight) you pretty much telegraph to the defense what's going to happen.

We need a real RB who can simply take the ball, find a hole, cut, and gain yardage.

Neither do I. Even last season when he ran for a little over 1,000 yards (which is not big news in today's NFL), it was the quietest 1,000 yards in the history of the NFL. He did 40% of his damage in three games. I had high hopes for Greene after 2009, but he's done nothing but disappoint and continually decline over the last three years. He's a serviceable #2, that's it. He's LaMont Jordan, but less.

you answered your own question. He's terrible at both.
Fumbling also keeps him off punt returns. He's not a serviceable option at RB.

At some point the Jets are going to need to stop worrying about potential fumble issues and start worrying about the fact that they have very little in the way of playmakers with Holmes out.

The Jets offense needs a spark in the worst way and McKnight at least has the speed and agility to possibly make something happen in that department.

If the ship is going to sink why not throw a hail mary?

Greene has no field vision. He just runs into the pile. He shouldn't be starting. ANd thats a sad thing because IMO he does play hard.

Greene is a up the middle, down the hill RB, who needs blocking to be successful. Complaining he's no Reggie Bush is like complaining an apple doesn't taste like an orange.

I am not saying he needs to be Reggie Bush. But it would be nice if he could spot the hole to run through every now and then...because they are often there to exploit.

We dont need an undersized fullback.
