Umm, okay. If Favre retires after this year who's the Jets QB next year?

If I had to guess, Brett Ratliff. Or Vinny.

Those "downward years" are better than the JETS "upward ones"!

Deep down, I hope Favre beats George Blanda's record

Clemens reminds me of Glen Foley for some reason. And it's not a fond reminder, either!

Gee the Houston game just three weeks ago when the Dolphins scored a TD with a little over a minute comes to mind. Of course, I guess that doesn't count because the Miami defense didn't hold and gave up a last second TD anyway.

And for all those people who keep bringing the Chiefs game up - Favre and the Jets failed in the first attempt to come back after the INT->TD late in the Chiefs game. If Herm hadn't pulled the his usual antics and the Jet defense didn't stop the Chiefs on three straight runs the Favre and the Jets wouldn't have had a chance to come back in this game.

Look, I'm not saying that Chad is better than Favre. However, when people bring stuff up that is just not true (or they choose not to recognize) on either side - "Pro-Chad" or "anti-Chad" - it's aggravating. Nobody knows what would have happened if the Jets had not picked up Favre. You just can't say that "this guy is uncapable of doing something" because you'll be proven wrong. We can all speculate (and we will continue on this board - it's inevitable) but nobody, and I mean nobody, really knows.

The trick offense you're referring to is already getting stopped. We still use the Wildcat from time to time but it's not like we're in it the entire game. We had that one game where we slaughtered New England with it and that was it. Everyone thinks we're a running team but we're not. We'd like to be and that's where we're headed but atm our offense clicks when we get in the midrange passing game with Chad and his crew of mediocre targets.

Dolphins so far are a 2win team at best without Chad.

You never know. Give him a week to get ready and he's still probably better than most of the guys out there. He can be the Julio Franco of football.

Im sorry I meant to say when he was with us. Is that the first time since he entered the league? The Jets would probably have the same record they have now if you ask me and Im anti Chad. The difference is if we went to the playoffs it would not last more than one game because Chad can not get it done in Jan when he has to throw the ball. What has chad done in 8 years to prove to you that he can beat a team like Pittsburgh in the playoffs when it counts? He is like a deer in headlights year after year!

Yeah, maybe if we had Chad we would be 5-3, or 6-2. But we could also be 4-4 or 3-5. And who knows if he would have gotten injured or not? The fact of the matter is that no one knows, and no one will ever know how we would have done with Chad as our QB this year. Do i think we should have tried to keep Chad, even as a backup? Yes, we probably should have. But that doesn't matter, we didn't and he is no longer on our team. He is having a good year this season, but not with the Jets.

Favre is struggling at times, but he has shown us that he can play at a high level (Arizona). if he can limit his mistakes or if the "prayer" throws start rolling our way, we will be a very dangerous team. All we need to do is make the playoffs. if we make the playoffs, i have much more faith that Favre can lead us to a superbowl win than Pennington. And in my opinion, that's all that matters.

Penny wasn't our QB of the future. If anything, Favre speeds up the process of finding that guy.

The article is stupid. The point is stupid. Fuck Chad Pennington.

Jets fans need to get out of the past...who *cares* that Pennington is producing...everyone here knew he could do it...just not with us.

BTW: I want to see Clemens get a shot after Favre. I know I know...JLfDW why do you still have faith in Clemens? Cause 1. he was the QB of all 4 of our wins last year 2. it was 8 fucking starts, and 3. it was 8 starts on a 4-12 team with no O-line and no running game.

I don't see why Clemens can't be a somebody just because he wasn't when the team wasn't.

The other question you want to ask is, if Favre had gone somewhere else and Chad had stayed, who would be starting this week? Clemens or Ratliff?

Those things only affected Pennington. Clemens should have been able to overcome them in his first 8 NFL starts.

Not to Mention if McCarenins makes the catch against Baltimore and if Cotchery does not drop the pass in Ot v.s the Skins Clemens would have won two more games last year.
