    Colts...maybe

To all the Jet fans out there, hope you enjoyed this season and just think of the good future you have. But some of the "scores" I am seeing being posted here by both sides is almost comical. First off the Jets offense won't score more then 10 -13 pts total. So for the Jets to win it will mean their defense will not allow the Colts to score at least 14 pts. So far this season Peyton is undefeated when he has played a full game. Heck in the half a game he played he posted 2 TD's and a field goal from the offense and against our starting D in a half the jets managed only 3 points. If the game was in NY, edge to the Jets, in Indy...

While I certainly apprecieate your feelings towards your team, I would like to speak to statistics as it relates to the amount of points the Colts will give up and your criticism of "comical" suggestions of score. Your Colts are ranked 18th overall defensively, 14th vs the Pass and 24th vs the Run. Your Defense has allowed 19 TD's via the Pass and 10 via the Run. Your team, on average gives up 19 points per game. Your team has allowed 6 plays of 40 yards or more vs the Pass.

In viewing those numbers, 10 points allowed to the # 1 rushing team in the league, IMO is comical. Good Luck.

We heard the same things in our 2006 run to the Super Bowl. That was a year in which we allowed 375 rushing yards in a game against Jacksonville in DECEMBER. As Colts fans we've heard it. You gotta do better than give us rankings. IMO, that kind of talk is comical. We did not play the same teams. Does that make the Colts better? We'll find out on Sunday.

The Jets QB and WR will have a difficult time getting 5-10 yard completions. Baltimore has a better passing game then the Jets to and just about an equal rushing game as the Jets do and how exactly well did they do this past weekend? Only 1 team "ran" that well on the Colts this past season and that was the Dolphins. Sorry but when Mr. (opps) Edwards is your main recieving threat, that really isn't much of a threat.

Also you struggled to post 17 on SD, our D is quicker and better...

No, what's comical is your use of stats — especially skewed stats, considering the last five quarters of the Colts regular season — to explain how a team that ranked in the lower half in terms of scoring and yardage is going to keep up with a team that ranks in the top 10 in both areas.

Or, most importantly, the team that won 14 games versus the team that won nine*.

I've heard a lot of talk here about running offense and defense, but none of you even broach the subject of how you can possibly stop Peyton Manning. There's probably a reason for that.

You know, I expected a little more humility from fans of a team that has had a true Cinderella season, but you guys act like you've been world beaters for years and that coming into Indy and whupping the Colts is no problem.

You people are DELUSIONAL. The Colts are going to take your Jersey B team to the woodshed and Rex Ryan is going to come out of the game with a blistered butt praising Manning for being the greatest quarterback ever.

My prediction is that Peyton Manning seems to love playing against Rex Ryan defenses and almost never loses to them.

He will struggle because its the AFC Championship game and there will be looks no one has seen before. But, he's Peyton Manning, he'll figure it out.

Sanchez plays the same way he has. Safe, clean, smart. Running game is more of the same, but it won't be enough.

    It'll be a 6-10 pt game. Colts 24, Jets 16

that's right you beat up on our B team with a QB who had not taken a snap since August and then only a few, without the "A" team players and such. So congrats on that win.

Yeah, you should look back on that win fondly after you get demolished Sunday. At least you'll have something to cling to.

While I will give you the Baltimore had a better passing game, no the Raven's are not equal to the JETS. Secondly, I would suggest to you if you think that Braylon Edwards is our only recieving threat take a look at some highlights from our two playoff victories. Secondly, your D is not as good as the Charger's D, you may be "Quicker" up front, but your Pass Defence is poor and you are worse than the Chargers against the run.

Make no mistake, I fear the Colts ... but, our "struggle" to score 17...it doesn't matter how many points we score, as long as it's 1 more than the Colts, I am satisfied. I will be overjoyed with a 6-3 score!

Interesting fact I heard today. In the first meeting with the Jets, three defensive starters for the Colts did not even play, Session, Mathis & Powers. Session is probably the fastest of the LB's and the hardest hitter, so those three will be a welcome additon to the game.

I appreciate where you're coming from, but a better reality check is to take out the stats for the last two Colts games. With three defensive starters not even playing (inactive list) and pulling the rest in the 2nd half of the first Jets game, then not playing starters at all in the Bills game skews the numbers greatly. Does anyone know how many rushing yards the Jets had in the first half against Indy?

We'll have to agree to disagree about the Colts D not being as good as the Chargers. The entire D is faster than most defenses, not just the line. Our DB's are quite good. Powers is a rookie who beat out Marlin Jackson for a starting spot and Lacy is a rookie who ended up starting seven games due to injuries. Both of these guys are ball hawks. They play the receiver tight and physical. Lacy hasn't beaten out Hayden since he came back from injury, but he's the first DB on the field in nickle situations.

Tim "20 Yard Cushion" Jennings is who the Jets want to see out there in the secondary, I assure you ;)

It's called matchups, Homer. Football games are won with matchups. The Jets had favorable matchups against the Chargers (you know them well, since the Colts are basically the Chargers wearing blue and white unis ) with a staunch passing defense, a good enough run defense to render their ground game effective, and creatively disguised blitz schemes that not only confused Rivers, but threw his blockers completely off the point of attack.

Of course, with your terrible, puny-minded homer logic, the Jets actually lost the game on Sunday to the Chargers, right? Because the Chargers won 13 games and the Jets only won 9. Of course the Jets lost, no one needed to watch the game.

You avoid logical arguments and provide pathetic ones. What a useless contribution to football forums you are.

Ha! As if this assessment is some bit of football chat room gold. You're funny, sweet pea.

I expected the Jets to beat the Chargers. They peaked weeks ago, and I didn't think they could handle the bye week well. They proved me right.

Sure, you had some favorable matchups, but the Chargers completely puked that game away.

You can keep fantasizing all you like, but the Chargers are not the Colts. You're going to learn that the hard way Sunday.

I guess it shouldn't surprise me how delusional guys like you are, since you clearly don't know anything about football. If you did, you would know you have no chance Sunday.

    NONE.

    Oh Lord...

    /facepalm

The Jets have gutted their way through two playoff games, and everyone in their right mind picked the Chargers to beat them on Sunday. Give them at least some credit. Besides, it's bad karma to not give the team even some kind of chance in a playoff game. If this was the regular season and we were playing the Lions, fine. But again... any team that makes it to the Championship game has a chance to win it or else they wouldn't be there.

See? Nothing to offer. The other Colts fans that are visiting here are right to be embarrassed by you.
