bank on it, book it, write it down. mac is high on leggett, dude is legit and the reason they played hard ball asj.
Walford is a wildcard. I expect Leggett and Eric Tomlinson to continue to carry the TE load. Tomlinson is one hell of a blocking TE.
Continue to carry the load? Leggett might be good but he has as many snaps as Hackenberg in regular season at least Walford has some playing time. I say let best man in camp win and don’t appoint Leggett anything.
Walford couldn't put up numbers with Derek Carr. The best man will win the job, but IMO Tomlinson already carved out his role on the team and the coaching staff likes Leggett. They've seen him play more then us.
Everyone wanted a veteran TE and now they have one. He isn't a very good one, but he's caught over 70 balls in 3 seasons and has playing experience, unlike Leggett, and is more than just a blocker, unlike Tomlinson. I don't know what to think of Nate Sterling. To me, he's just a JAG. In a perfect world, however, he is no more than the No.3 TE behind Leggett and Tomlinson (No.2 based on his blocking abilities).
I like the signing of Clive Walford, but he definitely isn't anything special. A good veteran to have though. Hopefully Leggett showed promise last year.
Another one. I guess you can't have too many tight ends Jets add a tight end for the second time this week Posted by Josh Alper on April 3, 2018, 4:23 PM EDT Getty Images The Jets claimed Clive Walford off of waivers on Monday and made another move to bolster their tight end group on Tuesday. The team announced that they have signed free agent Bucky Hodges to their 90-man offseason roster. He joins Walford, Eric Tomlinson, Jordan Leggett and Neal Sterling on the depth chart at tight odges got good marks from several draft analysts last year after catching 133 passes for 1,747 yards and 20 touchdowns over three seasons in a receiving-oriented role at Virginia Tech, but questions about his ability to play a traditional tight end role wound up leaving him for the Vikings in the sixth round. He was waived/injured by Minnesota in September and spent time on Carolina’s practice squad during the season. The Jets will see if they can get something more out of Hodges in 2018.
Many had Hodges as a 3rd to 4th round pick. Instead he went 6th round to the Vikings, who released him right before the season. Wonder what went so wrong with him to give up so fast and then Carolina not hold on to him either?
No idea personally. Don't know nothing about hodges. But i love the clive signing. I think he has a ton of talent and got a raw deal in oakland. He's a capable 50 catch 500 yard TE if given the chance. he isn't making any probowls but he's a solid starter. and at 2mil for the season, dirt cheap. less then half the price of ASJ and should outperform him this year
If they signed him it would put Edwards out of the squad, he shows a lot of promise but then he puts in that one horrendous kick at the worst possible time and spoils it all. King is a beast of a punter but what would he cost 3.5m a year, seems a lot for a punter.
We have 2 stud blocking TEs with him and Tomlinson. Lots of 2 TE sets with our new young gun QB, I like it protect him.
