Bah you're right we did have Jenkins....but not Pace. I know Jenkins isn't even comparable to Pace in terms of importance, but it still helps.
Don't be so defensive. I think the Houston O is very similiar in talent to the SD O, that's all. Vincent Jackson is a nice WR and this year you could argue he is better than TO and certainly better than Ocho and probably better than Moss when Moss isn't trying which is probably half the time.
Combined records for both teams faced in 2009. NY Jets 9-7 (Records of teams faced , 132-124) SD Chargers 13-3 (Records of teams faced, 116-140) discuss ...
About the only reality in this post is that Peyton has more experience than Rivers. But to suggest that Rivers can't prep for your defense is homer blinders. I've watched Rivers to Gates and laughed about it not even being fair. So dominant that it looks like college against pros. Here's a fun article for you: (forum won't let me link) of course, the Cowboys went on to destroy New Orleans who hasn't won a game since. Telling yourself that Rivers hasn't seen a defense like the Jets is an excuse for wishful thinking.
Agreed. The only difference as far as the two offenses this season has been San Diego's superior scoring offense, and even then it's primarily a difference in kickers with Houston only trailing by 4 rushing TDs and 0 passing.
You must of lost those 4 more to winning teams? (like you know who?) Chargers struggled to cope with significant injuries suffered in the first game of the season, losing their Pro Bowl center and NT. Once they rallied, we didn't lose games to winning teams either.
Oh no, he has faced solid passing defenses. Of course, I hope you're not trying to use Dallas as the example. However, our passing defense has only surrendered 8 TDs all year. The next fewest? 14. That's almost double. There's no one quite like the Jets passing D. Denver would probably be the closest one that you've faced. I know they were Top 5 against the pass this season, although they fell apart as the season wore on.
By winstonbiggs Matt Shaub [sic] had a year that is pretty comparable to Rivers year. ```````````````````````````` This must be the dumbest post of the day.
Actually we lost 2 games that we absolutely dominated - Miami, Buffalo. The Jacksonville (7-9) and Atlanta (9-7) games were debatable. Speaking of injuries, have you heard of Kris Jenkins and Leon Washington ?
We lost the best NT in the NFL to a torn ACL - Kris Jenkins. A much bigger loss then Jamal Williams. Our most dynamic offensive palyer, our Darren Sproles, Leon Washington, also broke his leg.
I have NFL Sunday ticket and have to admit that I barely watched any Jet games till the Indy debacle. (best TV programming on God's green earth!) So you're going to have to help me out here... How did the Jets lose 7 games with this superior defense and run game? and why, again, will it be different this Sunday? Carson Palmer SUCKED last Saturday and their kicker couldn't put his points up. Otherwise it wasn't all that lopsided. We're down into this thread a ways, so I want to remind you that I think the Jets #1 units are impressive and give you a great chance. (50%!) But I still think y'all are drinking Rex's Koolaid a little too much. I know its hard to accept, but this is a better offense than the one in Indy.
Fixed your post. No fan's confidence in this team stems from what Rex says, it comes from what we've seen on the field over the last month.
Stay classy Fish. Stats don't define the talent or pure athletic ability of a player. We, unlike some other teams, don't just have "one star receiver" that gets all of the catches in a game. We are stacked on offense and throw the ball to many different players every game. That's what makes our offense dynamic. Pats: Throw to Welker and Moss (clearly by the stats hardly any plays to others) - I don't have 50 posts so I can't post links with stats (FYI) so look it up on the team website. According to your theory, Welker is better than Moss with the stats above. Does that make any sense? No. Point proven. Texans: Johnson gets twice the catches as the next guy on his roster (33 more catches than VJ) and has the same amount of touchdowns as VJ. Are there any other 1,000+ yard receivers on that roster? NO. Point proven (Check the team website) Chargers: Look at the diversity in stats (and more importantly average yards per catch) Gates, Floyd and Sproles dip into the numbers quite a bit. No Gates and a lesser WR than Floyd and Jackson's numbers would be much higer. (Check team website) Check yourself as well before posting, I never wrote that we would score 34 on you guys. I do predict a win though. Please tell me that anyone rooting for their own team isn't somewhat biased...give me a break and get off of your high horse. Read any of my other posts on here....they are very rational and I've given many accolades to your team along with my analysis of the game. If you don't like it don't read it.
You are in one of the most civilized pregame debates on the Int3rzw3bz! We are point counterpoint and goin back & forth...It's actually incredibly entertaining but yet.... Because we are posting stats and backing our team you go and quit? My Man, you just pussified yourself the the MAX.
The only Stat the CHARGERS can hang their hat on is: The NY JETS are 0-2 in 2009 vs teams that wear fag colored jerseys.
