We have to get a receiver in the second Round. The reality of the situation is we could be without coles for a long stretch this year. He is really a hit away from being done. I actually think Stucky will emerge to be one of our best receivers this year.

I'm with ya here. Coles has a couple good years in him. He has taken alot of abuse and looks to be startign to wear down.

As don said, he had no problems skipping town as soon as he got a better offer before so I feel we owe him no loyalty as we received none in that past.

Do we need coles this season? Very much so. It was obvious how much so when he was out last year. If they do not resolve the dispute we need to bring in at least one receiver, if not two, in the draft this year.

i agree we'd HAVE to get a 2nd round draft pick but wr are not known to tear it up in their rookie year. i would still rate this as a horrible group. we'd need some creative game planning by mangini, maybe split leon out. i'm not feeling strongly about this but i don't think they should pay him or extend his contract. i think once training camp starts and the fines start to pile up he'll show and he'll play hard for us too, then maybe trade him next year.

I wouldn't be quick to trade LC quite yet. I mean, if we're gonna lean on the development of Clemens, I think we should give him a solid receiver in Coles and give this kid every opportunity to succeed. So, i wouldn't feel uncomfortable with an unhappy Coles for a year, and look to trade him next year. If Coles ends up having a decent/good season, he'll be great trade bait. As it is right now, he's a player that didn't finish the full season due to injuries and teams will take pounce on that fact to lower his value. At worse, if he gets hurt again this year, he can at least coach/aid our receiving core assuming we pick up a WR in the 2nd round.

I think they would like to avoid the locker room cancer they had last year. I don't see them letting him dictate what happens. They will either deal with him or get rid of him before camp opens.

Coles really doesn't deserve more money. ANd the Moss comparison is laughable. The guy just set the TD record for WRs. Coles had his worst year since he was a rookie. How d oes that compare? And really, Coles has done so little since returning to the Jets he feels like a bust. A pretender #1 widout.

Trade Coles, cut Coles, I dont care. He is not #1 reciever caliber anymore and should not be piad like he is.

i dont get the locker room cancer thing. like he's gonna bad mouth the FO to the players and say oh they're lier's they promised me an extension. but it's like you got 2 more years on your current contract that you SIGNED, you also had an off year and your one hit away from being retired. i think the players are smart enough to know that it's a buisness and this is the way things are run.

I'd show Coles the door in a heartbeat. All his 'leadership' and 'courage' aside, he's the same damn player as Cotchery and the lesser of the two at this point. Cotchery does everything Coles does and is younger and will probably still get better.

I think drafting a big-play WR is a must in this draft. Also, Coles seems to bitch and complain a ton I don't see how this guy is a great leader he seems just like Mawae to me.
