You know champ...I will never understand where your coming from. When posters discuss how the media says how good a player is, you say the proof is in the pudding..to wait for the season. When the media says how a player has weaknesses...you run with it and use it. The common thread of all these players is that they are Jets. And you wonder why in the back of some minds around here, people wonder if you would prefer the Jets to suck...so your mantra of "we will never win" remains useable. If someone says that Jonathon Vilma was a ROY...or a probowler...you say "what do they know". Then you go running to a 2 minute blurb by ESPN on draft day as if Moses came down the mountain with the "lost episodes of the 11th commandment".
If that ESPN analysis of F & M is even 1/3 correct then Man & Tan should be awarded the knucklehead of the year awards. That is why I am so negative towards them cause it would appear at the least they will be average to below average players which surely is not way to supposely "upgrade" yourself. Would you not agree with that?

If you reread the post, I didnt say they were supermen. I wasnt even commenting on their value. All Im saying is that when a poster writes "Randy Lange of the Record says that Vilma is a very good linebacker", you respond that he is a writer and you prefer to judge players on their performance and their championships. When ESPN says that "Ferguson will have problems with speed rushers", you run with that like its a fact. I personally think Vilma has been a very nice linebacker for the Jets. Is he as good as the some posters around here think? No. I attribute that to poor coaching...poor systems....which I know you agree that we havent been happy with the Jet coaching situation around over the last 5 years. With your stance, its difficult to say the coaching has sucked..and the player is OK...and then he still gets a nod to the probowl. Something has to give..and that logic is a bit flawed. Which fits perfectly in to my final point...according to you, ESPN is correct (you protect yourself by saying things like "hey..take it up with ESPN"..but you use it for your arguement)...but the people that vote for the probowl are not correct. You tend to just use the media when it supports your theory.

Don't tell me what I saw and what I didn't. I watched from beginning to end. I actually taped it and watched it a second time with my brother. They repeatedly talked about him not being able to handle the bull rush and praised his pass blocking. If I am wrong, please provide a vid link or article supporting your claim. If you can not, my recollection of the piece is just as valid as yours. Actually I was never a Herm supporter, but that is besides the point. Please provide specific examples. You say you are negative because there are "concerns" about the guys we drafted? EVERY player in the draft has "concerns." Reggie Bush might not be big enough or durable enough... Where did ANYONE at ESPN ever say Ferguson and Mangold will be average to below average players? I never saw that anywhere? Champ, please come down off the ledge buddy...
