He's a backup tight end. They didn't sign him to have any type of huge impact. Hopefully he'll help out in the running game and contribute a little bit to the passing game.
I'd say the only exception to this rule is if your team has no other more important positions to draft. It doesn't matter how good the TE you draft is if you don't have a suitable OL or QB. If we drafted Heath Miller he would've totally busted, or at least most of you would be claiming he did.
