Actually, this is part of the Bowles/Kacy Exit Strategy...even when we are gonna lose the D HAS to look good or help make it close Bowles smells the Turk.especially if .within the first 7 games if we are like 1-6 , 2-5 etc He needs all the help he can get ..so of course Mac lands him a 70 Mil cornerback..no pass rusher available and Mac doesn't know that we need OL..makes NO sense My point is the Defense has underperformed and the load up in 12 def backs here is just as ridiculous as drafting 2 Safeties back to back!! Funny how a day in the life of a GM goes. A year from now Mac will be critized for missing on draft picks yet Hansen will probably be a success in NE while our HC chose to keep 14 back ups in the secondary, led foot and all.
Some of this is probably gamesmanship. They (Macc & Bowles) probably didn't think anyone would be interested in a slow WR who did absolutely nothing this preseason and doesn't play ST. Maybe they expected him to clear waivers and join the PS. They clearly did not anticipate the white WR factory in NE to swoop in.
