    What??

Wow, it is true. The funny thing is recently I had always wondered why more professional players don't retire early, and then it seems like the chain of events happened with Larry Sanders retiring early from the NBA.

Sign Culliver & Cro after having signed Revis and Skrine? Draft OL in the first 4 rounds? Dude, you need to put the crack pipe down.

Then thank God you're not the GM. Giving up the #6 pick for an ancient QB who may only play 1-2 more seasons? I can't believe the idiotic ideas I see on this board. Simply unbelievable.

What is this I'm hearing about Drew Brees? People keep commenting about going after him and getting him to complete the perfect offseason, etc. but he is not a FA and I have not heard any reports of a trade? What has fueled this speculation?

Supposedly he's available in a trade, however, the Saints are probably going to want a lot.

Their local beats are apparently saying he is on the block.

New Orleans is living up to their fornicatory roots and selling ass wherever they can. Insane that they traded Jimmy Graham like a used tire, but there you have it.

Very odd. But seems like his heart just wasn't in football.

Agree. I've seen people say, trade the whole draft for Brees.

A good idea would be, keep the 6. Draft Mariota or Winston, then maybe trade our second or third round pick for Brees. The guy is 36, he doesn't have much left.

Have Brees start. Then in 2016 or whenever, have our newly drafted QB take the helm.

I'm one of the people that said that but I was under the influence of fanaticism at the time. After reading a little bit in the NFL forum I think the rumor of Brees on the block is false, It's a fake NFL Twitter account. I'd love to get him for a couple of years but he isn't going anywhere and I really wouldn't trade the farm for him at this point, as cool as it would be to have him.

It could be worth a try, but I don't think so as he doesn't tackle well.

Skrine would be better suited at FS.

Looks like we are in serious talks with Cromartie,If we bring him in that tells me we have zero faith in Dee Millner

Which surprises no one. Even if he managed to stay on the field he isn't very good..he will probably play dime as Boles puts 4 CBs on the field a lot.

This isn't a surprise. He may not be ready for training camp. Depending on Milliner this year would be at their peril.

    Per Cimini:

    4. Why settle for Carpenter? Before finalizing a deal with former Seattle Seahawk, Maccagnan was deep into negotiations with the top two guards on the market, Mike Iupati andOrlando Franklin. The Jets offered to make Iupati the highest-paid guard in the league, but he took less money from the Arizona Cardinals because he wanted to stay close to his home in the West. He still did nicely -- five years, $40 million. It was the same situation with Franklin. He took less from the San Diego Chargers (five years, $35 million) because he wanted to reunite with his former Denver Broncos coordinator, coach Mike McCoy. Obviously, Maccagnan wasn't sitting on his hands during the Revis negotiations, as had been suggested.

I was pissed that Mac didn't get Iupati or Franklin, but to hear that he had offered more money to both of them than what the Cards and Chargers gave, and they took less elsewhere for other reasons (location, former coach), I'm ecstatic that we have a GM that's been going for it. Mac is impressing me.
