It's interesting. They seem to struggle w/ offensive skill & lbers. But they do well w/ finding special teamers/returners at both spots.
It's obvious our talent evaluation sucks. And a big part of that problem has been Terry Bradway. Instead of getting rid of this guy he's still here as a college talent evaluator. I've been saying this on here for years.
Why do u troll here....go back to the B.S. room. U do ur best commenting then. Also...stay off my croth...please. I already have a girl.
Seattle was drafting pretty high for awile & so was in positopn to draft the creapm of talent. They had a few hits, but had a few misses also. Since Pete Carroll came in, team has steadily inproved in standings & talent.
Low round draft picks & UDFA's is a sign of good talent evaluation. Every team should hit on there early round draft picks. Finding the hungry & talented players that can impact ur team....maybe 1st on ST & then develop in players. Jets can raise the percentage of hits on these type of players. Keeping it real....after viewing 1st pre-season game, how many of these type of players jumped off the screen at you. I only saw a few & saw alot more training camp fodder. Jaiqwuan Jarrett, Trey Gilleo, maybe two or 3 others. The good thing is Ravens, 49'ers, Giants, Steelers, Packers....are gonna have cuts & we have to get there top rejects. I counted only 43 players on current roster that should make team. That leaves alot of roster space for others. For example.....The only secondary players on roster that should make team is: Cromartie, Milliner, Kyle Wilson & Ellis Lankster. The rest of secondary players on roster are terrible.
So... explain exactly how the Seahawks improved when Carroll came in. Explain how their talent acquisition is something to envy. Not vaguely. Exactly.
It's not my job to prove your argument. But thanks for dropping your digital turds at the bottom of all of alley's positional threads. It's like a cowpatch of ignorance.
Guys we leT go and never replaced VIlma, Hu Douglas, moss,FArrior, Revis,Lowery,Landry,Bell,Rhodes,Faneca,Leon Washington,Devito,Jericho Cotchery,Dustin Keller,Damien Woody,LT,Thomas Jones, Shonn Greene, the list goes on and on this orginization is a joke and that's putting it lightly, Go look at the Giants and Steelers the last 10 years they have had consistentsy on there rosters for a long time and keep there good players when they are in there prime
Next years draft if we are a back half of top 10 picks do we go up and get Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater or Jadeveon Clowney?
Kyle Wilson is Pretty Terrible I wouldnt be mad if they somehow got rid of him problem is we spent a 1st on him. He is terrible in coverage and always seems to jump up and clap his hands or pat himself on the back as if he did a great job in coverage when in reality usually the WR Drops the ball or the Play is over thrown or the player catches the ball and he actually makes the tackle. We still havent seen alot of the players from the bench yet either so I wouldnt cast the entire secondary off just yet
Clowney is gonna be the num 1 pick next yeAr,Manziel some say will drop to the second round so I say none , I don't know enough about Bridgewater
When you list a ton of talented players that were on roster at one point you can't really claim talent evaluation as the primary issue. Take Revis. Most talented DB ever, and yes, we saw it and drafted him. Keeping talent seems to be where we fall off, and hopefully Idzik can help in this area once the Tanny mess is cleaned up.
Yes Bradshaw may the key these days but what about the 90s & the 80s & 70s when Bradshaw was not around?
Look fellow NYJ fans if we were such good drafters as some of you claim then why are now going on our 45 year with not being SB Champs?
i have thought about this over the years and i am not sure what to think of bradway. every now and then we hear a tidbit about how he loved a certain college player and the jets end up NOT drafting him (most recent - russell wilson). so there has to be some ability and experience. i did not like bradway early on with his partner edwards. the philosophy they brought to the team on defense was ridiculous and was an ill fit with the roster they inherited. so bradway and the scouting department may in fact be the stabilizing force and the ones that have actually pulled the trigger may be the ones to blame (ryan and tannenbaum)
Success to me is winning SBs. I jogged my memory & it said we did not win a SB in the 80s or 90s for that matter or 00s also & now the 10s which equals zero success
The 2011 and 2012 drafts at least right now are shaping up to be pretty solid. In '11 we added 2 starters in Mo Wilk and Kerley and a rotation player in Powell. In 2012 we added 2 starters in Coples and Hill, and another potential starter in Allen and a rotation player in Bush. 2013 could potentially land us 5 starters in the future in Milliner, Richardson, Geno and Winters and Bohannon.
2 things can bring this home and put us in the sweet spot in 2014 and 2015.... if coples and hill develop into more than starters, they need to be threats on each side of the ball. and smith. if the football gods let it happen the jets could boast about having 3 consecutive solid drafts and be in a position to put the proverbial icing on the cake via free agency or future draft.
