Who has said this is a great defense anyways? Even the players agree it isn't.

No because the Avg. person won't remember that and sadly most people are Avg.

I BELIEVE Leon Washington would have given us 2 or 3 extra wins. He would have definitely been the difference in the Atlanta and Bills game, giving us the 5th seed in the AFC. I'm not worried about the Jets in the future. I think we'll be alright under Ryan with Sanchez leading the way on O and Revis at D.

It just annoys me when people say "the jets don't get stops when they need them" when those are 3 situations right there where the team needed a big stop and got it. Not saying the defense is tops in the league, just saying this team has gotten stops before when it really counted

The fact that we've had so many games like this a bit frustrating

We wouldn't need the D to make those stops if the O had made some serious effort. We cannot ask for more out of our Defense, we blame them because the Offense is not producing and we expect the defense to compensate for the lack of offense. This is asking too much out of Defense under a first year system. In my opinion, the D has been lights out! Do not blam the Defense.

This defense is losing games at the last minute is bullshit. The Offense got 7 fucking points last game and couldnt sustain a drive. The defense was on the field constantly against a pretty good QB.

Here is a fucking idea, how about making 2 of the 3 missed 30 yard field goals and that last minute drive means shit.............

Sometimes a very good defense needs a rest. They have only been really shit in one game and that was in Miami.

The offense is putrid. You got a better chance of a 90 year old dude maintaining a hard on without Viagra then the offense sustaining a drive longer then 3 plays.

Doesn't help when your offense can't stay on the field. These guys are conditioned, but it's a not easy for a defender to stay on the field all game. If anything, our defense lacks depth (quality depth), and our guys end up gassing late in the game. That's a front office issue that will need to be addressed. But, Rex definitely delivered with what he had! This is the best Jet defense I can remember!

Well Sanchez telegraphing INTs to the other team isn't helping either.

I agree, both sides can take some blame, but I would say more on the offense than the D.

We can ask for more of the D. We can ask our D not to choke at critical points in the game which they clearly have 3 times this year.

If you have a great D and you have a lead with the other team needing to drive the entire field to score a TD not a FG a TD you want the D in that position. Our team has been in that position 3 times and blew chunks against some very mediocre comp.

We also had the TOP in the game against Atlanta so the idea that our D had to overcome more than the opposition doesn't wash.

When our D steps up and stops teams with the game on the line that will be a sign that it is an elite D. It's not an elite D right now.
