I tend to forget sometimes that he is only 20 years old. Two years older than me (I was born in '91).

Tonight: 3-4 HR 2 RBI (hit a 2-run walk-off HR to straight away center to win the game, and one of his singles hit off the RF wall).

    (From NYYFans)
    Since June 11th (173 ABs):

    .358 /.428 / .642
    10 HR / 31 RBI / 17 2B / 2 3B / 21 BB / 35 K

Last 8 HRs have been either to CF or RF. He's like ARod-lite.

Every game his defensive ability behind the plate becomes more irrelevant. Cliff Lee was the last time the Yankees will ever consider trading him. Imagine Montero in the lineup with Cano.

2-3 HR RBI so far tonight.

He's just toying with these AAA pitchers at this point.

His swing reminds me of Manny Ramirez.

Not saying that he'll be anywhere near that great a hitter, but he looks completely natural at the dish.

His HR tonight went over the scoreboard in left center.

    from riverave:

13 for his last 30 (.433) with four doubles & three homers … that’s his third homer in the last four games

He's treating AAA like a video game.

Someone who covers the SWB team wrote that those who don't think he'll stick at C forget that he has a great work ethic. He works hard to improve. Given that he can't be put out at the plate, if he shifts some focus to his defensive skills, we just may have ourselves a new catcher and middle-order hitter.

    A quick brainstorm says:

    Jeter SS
    Teixeira 1B
    Cano 2B
    ARod 3B
    Montero C
    Posada DH
    Crawford LF
    Swisher RF
    Gardner CF

    ...next year.

    Wouldn't that be ridiculous? :eek:hmy:

The Yankees can afford to add Crawford or Lee, not both. I'd take Lee if I had the choice.

Curtis Granderson won't be a Yankee next year. Possibly not Burnett either. Javy might be gone too.

Lee and Crawford will be Yankees in November. I'm certain of it.

I've read some things about how Crawford has so much respect for the Rays, that if he leaves, he'd go out of the division. Of course, money talks.

How do you know Granderson won't be a Yankee?

Selling low on Granderson would be a mistake.

And I can guarantee that Burnett will be back. Good luck finding a taker for the rest of his contract.

Javy will probably be gone though.

Crawford hitting 7th? That would be a waste, imo.

I don't think they'll get him though. They'd have to move Granderson's contract, which would involve them having to include a top prospect in a deal for a not-so-great return.
