Well the extra 2 seconds it takes Chad's ball to get there gets the recievers killed. For example, If KC threw the ball last year to Coles and not Chad, no way in this world Zach Thomas puts a licking on Coles. Coles would have caught that and got an extra 15-20 yards after the catch and would be he would still know his f-ing name after he caught it. Getting the ball quicker not only gives the WR's time to at least get away from a tackler but the added bonus of not getting crushed by a LB or lineman. Another great example is Leon Washingtons screen pass yesterday. It took an hour to get there and Whitner made an open field tackle on the Jets most elusive player. Edit: I am not going to say JC is a top 3 Wr in the NFL but I will say he is an elite player that needs the ball in his hands 7-10 times a game. He certainly has the talent and hands to be top 3. I can only imagine how good he can be with a QB that can stretch the field an not let teams cheat on coverages.
