Considering he has absolutely no moves to get to the QB but works containment somewhat efficiently, it might not be all that bad. He can bull rush, but his pursuit sucks ass. At least being on the front end gives him the shortest distance to the QB.
I thought Pats fans were jackoffs. I'm starting to hate Jets fans more. He's hurt. Get over it. Go 4-3. Ellis and Pouha inside with Gholston and Thomas on the ends. Pace, Scott and Harris at LB. It's not the end of the world.
There's nothing wrong with Ellis, I mean he got that big paycheck last playing in a 4-3 on the end and he could probably handle DT as well. And yes, either Thomas or Gholston (technically Pace but lol no) could move to end. The problem is at LB (Scott+Pace+Harris as a liability in passing), but then again it's not like the other former DE guys were "freaking awesome" pass rushers in the 3-4 anyway.
This loss is really painful. I forgot about losing to the Bills quickly and the team could too. But losing Jenkins will be the end of D-Rex.
I tore my ACL and meniscus, you can walk on the injury, gingerly, but you can't do anything else. If you move laterally (sideways, like in a shuffle) you drop like a sack of bricks.
I still haven't seen an official injury diagnosis...so I'm still hoping it's only a knee sprain or even torn MCL so he'll be back this season. We can beat Oakland without Jenkins right? Just like we beat the Saints without Sheppard and the Dolphins with a hurt Cotchery.

When your HC is Mangini and you only know how to run one defensive scheme , losing one key player is a death blow. When you have a true defensive minded coach , he will scheme to put the players we have into place. Its a big loss , but we'll be ok.
We almost have the personnel to go 4-3 though surprising we will be short on LBs. Pace doesn't play well in space nor does Thomas. I remember when we moved Ellis to DT awhile back that was a disaster but its been years since and his block shedding has gotten much better. Rotate Pace, Gholston, and Thomas at DE similar to what the giants do with Osi, Tuck and Kiwi. At LB Scott and Harris and i guess Thomas or Pace which is gonna be a disaster. Losing our most valuable and irreplaceable player is devastating it changes everything. You thought our rush defense was not too good with Jenkins wait till we see what its gonna be like without him. RBs going bananas with 5+ yards per carry at will. Basically what our rush D was before Jenks.
