Bernie Rayno said this was being under sold. More so on the coast.
I have dusting and still falling.
C, not looking good for this week. It’s a tight set up,like jay said, threading a needle.

Well I generally don't have much reason to venture into this thread this time of year but they are actually saying there is a very outside chance at some snow down here in Central Florida mid week. All that means is it may float down , land on your hand and stay there for a second until it melts but being people here have a meltdown in the rain, snow should be fun.

What's everyone's thoughts on the 4th? Right now, models are trending the storm closer to our area again. Yes, it’s a big storm... and there will absolutely BE a storm. The question remains... how close does it get?

The euro had it as a monster 3 days ago. Both models have since lost it and now are starting to bring it back in.
My thoughts, blowing out to sea. Timing isn’t right to have it come up the coast like it needs to for it to be a storm for us.

Fjay I hear you but it still has over 4 days,,,,,I do not trust the Euro it has not been MONEY in a while. I don't trust any model totally but I do like the Ukie lately,,,,The GFS sucks lately and will cave to the EURO eventually,, most models TODAY moved it more west,,,,but as I see this , and I am just a novice if you want snow you want the energy to the South to just slow down a bit, this is all about timing and if that Southern energy could just slow down then that Northern energy will eventually pull it north ,,,,,,I can't say this is a snowstorm for us and I don't think its out to sea I think its about the timing and we have to wait to see how it plays out ,,still too soon . That said the players are all on the field ,,its all there just about timing,,,now slow down Southern energy,,lol

You want the energy to the north to slow down. As it is now that energy will block the southern energy from coming up, that’s your storm. On my phone so I can’t do maps. But on the models you will see the 2 lows one north and one south. We need the southern one to get out in front of the northern one and turn north as it hits the coast. The northern one gets too Far East and blocks the turn. In a perfect world, the southern one turns north and phases with the northern one and we have a snow bomb.

ok hold on,,,,novice here and maybe Fjay u can help me out,,,but if the Southern energy is weaker and SLOWER won't the Northern Energy be able to grab it sooner /phase and pull it up as opposed to OUT TO SEA ? still learning here,,,,thoughts ?

The northern energy blocks the southern energy. Guides it straight out to see when they are moving west to east parallel to each other. Like the2 cycles in the video game tron (dating myself but I think you will get the reference)

but wait FJAY,,,,first off I NEVER PLAYED TRON,,,lol can't for the life of me remember it,,,,but I stray.
As far as the timing does it not depend WHEN the northern stream grabs or phases with the southern stream because that will determine which way this goes ? This is the stuff Bernie Rayno talks about all the time the tilt of the axis,,am I wrong ?

Really??? Man I shoveled a lot of quarters in to that game.
Now this is what Bernie talks about. The northern energy is your cold air your southern is your precip. So, you need the southern to run across the country hit the coast turn north and than as it tracks north the northern energy comes in and the southern moisture hits the northern cold air and boom. Sad part about this one is we don’t need that northern energy, we have the temps, as we all know , just need that moisture.

So less and less likely on the Thursday storm. That means we will stay in the freezer for another week. Had that storm come through it would have pulled warmer air in on the backside and get us back to some above freezing days. So expect another week of teens and single digit highs coming up. Next chance is the 8-9th.

Fjay,,,,,,I don't think we can say this aint happening,,,now WE ALL KNOW I HAVE A BIAS here but it looks as if the models are having a real hard time AGAIN with the dynamics of this. Each run goes back and forth but even the Euro looks to say this can happen,,,Ukie also which again is the model I like lately. I think even todays runs won't be written in stone but man all the players are there its all about timing and a lot of science that I just can't grasp yet lol

it's unusually cold in the entire United States.

The hottest temperature this afternoon is 71 in South Florida.

Southern California is the 60s. Northern is 50s.

It's cold in the Pacific Northwest.

It's cold in the entire South except for Florida.

Florida, Arizona, and Southern California are the only places with comfortable weather.

    Texas is even cold.

No relief for the northeast any time soon. Friday and Saturday will be highs around 7, that’s Fahrenheit.

wow looks even colder end of week than now,,,,BTW Fjay models all over the place weather geeks who forgot more than I know cannot agree on Wednesday/ Thursday---> models no help--->think we still need more intel as they are really struggling with dynamics----->timing is big for this -----> might not really know whats going to happen until it happens----> when does this thing phase ? goes east out to sea or rides coast ? thoughts ?
