just a quick update here for you local guys...along with the few guys like FJF and others in this thread, will still be doing all weather stuff in this thread when I can..which will be pretty often come winter time but the site is on hold. Its stupid to do it when there will days other than storms to take care of and I can already tell, there will be no time for that this winter. So...will post here unless the schedule changes...this is enough to feed my need. That will have to wait until at least next winter...maybe 2 winters. Its an incredible amount of work..and I just got so burnt in the middle of last year... to just post when storms come is stupid. I like the back and forth here much more anyway!
Hey Jay, is this transition from summer to fall gonna stay this turbulent? I've already took a look ahead to next Saturday and they're already looking at another rain event.
El Nino's are crazy. I'm thinking we're going to have a weird winter. I have no idea at all what an El Nino event looks like when the polar vortex has broken down and lots of cold air is sweeping much further south than it usually does.
Tough call C. A lot of the turbulance has to do with constant tropical depression type systems of the southeast coast. Many east to west feeds which are rare and will not translate to winter. Another system is setup to do the same even next weekend. Lets see how that plays out. I would think at most, 30 more days of this before a real pattern change.
I'm sitting in my apartment right now and we're in our 2nd huge typhoon in as many months. Reports are the 2nd strongest wind gust in Taiwan has now been captured with this storm at about 166 MPH. Not sure that's accurate but the storm made landfall about an hour ago and the eye is going to be passing over me soon. This one seems to be much more intense than the last one. Only thing is we don't have any English local news so impossible to really know what is going on
So hearing some rumblings of a possible tropical storm/hurricane in ou area this weekend. Any thoughts or speculations?
total disagreement between the euro and the gfs right now. if you listen to the gfs it makes landfall around norfolk va sunday, with lots of rain ahead of the actual eye hitting. making friday thru monday a.m. basically a washout. the euro has it spinning safely out to the east. i don't know enough to guess which one has a better chance of being right.
Was watching the weather channel last night and no one knew which way this thing would go,,,,,,I am sure today's computer models followed by tomorrow's will make things a little clearer
midnight euro and 6 a.m. gfs have not changed. that thing is just spinning in one place right now. until it start to moves its a guessing game. my money is on the euro here. p.s. this is a nice warm up for winter. hope jay chimes in soon
My mistake. When i put the model in motion it looked farther south than that. now that i am looking at it on a computer not phone i may get my eyes checked
All I know is that SOB got us in his crosshairs for this weekend. Looks like another prime fishing weekend washed out.
Jay Heading down to Maryland Saturday morning to attend a funeral. I will head back home Saturday night. What are your predictions for the road? Heavy rain?
