Now the problem with those numbers is and the problem Im having with agreeing with it is this next batch is the same as if you got a summer thunderstorm. Models really cant pinpoint the huge numbers...so its tough to say yes..another foot or 18 inches for you.

What I can say is that a band will setup ..and huge band...and 8 to 14 inches of snow with locally higher amounts will happen..just need to keep an eye on the radar.

    NOWCAST.

Round Two has started here in PA. Looks like the same snow I saw this morning. Coming down very heavy although the flakes seem a lot drier. More fluffy than wet. At least 1" new snow on the ground already. Calling for an additional 3-6".

Thank God I got out there earlier. Hitting it hard during the rain may have made it possible for me to go to work tomorrow.

That heavy snow was a royal bitch to move today too. I'm sore all over and had to take one of my "good" pain pills I got from my dentist. Going to sleep here in a bit because that's the effect but at least I'm not sore everywhere anymore.

Here we go...hundreds or reports of thunder with this band now entering NNJ and NYC and L.I.

Heaviest sleet every reported by a buddy of mine in Morris County.

Heres the only thing that might keep SNOW numbers down..and its not a good thing.

Pouring sleet and freezing rain by me and 29 degrees. If the models are reading the temps as this is snow, it will keep down numbers for many. Thats the good news.

The bad news is what falls instead of snow will not be pretty...heavy freezing rain and sleet.

Now still, west of that line will be snow..and a band of 10 to 15 will set up somewhere...and the Poconos is a starting point.

Got one car outside one in the garage. I guess I know what I will be driving. Jay weatherman say help is on the way. Temps mid week will be near 50. Hope they are right its time some of this stuff melts. I would rather deal with flooding than more snow.

Been getting freezing rain here in Randolph for the past 60-90 minutes. Not good. And saw a flash of lightening about an hour ago or so. Please change over to snow.

Delayed opening tomorrow. This means two less hours to do a full day's work. Staying home on a second consecutive weekday wouldn't be much better. Nothing worthwhile on TV and cannot do anything outside.

Yeah..nyc...L.I...that was a powerful band of rain that came through..whats happening is the back end of the storm..or what is called the 850..its the upper level storm..its sweeping through NJ right now and will pivot the heavier precip back over areas that have been rain.

Snow should break out West to East..looks like its snowing in Sussex County now..and western Morris county is close or snow. Once that pivots..the heavier snow will pivot through north jersey in a second band..then NYC....but still, I really believe the models read this as all snow.

At 4 am...I could look at this and be easily be wrong..easily...this will redevelop several times more...but I just think areas east of NJ/PA border that modeled near a foot..end up with more like 6 more..and towards NYC and Western L.I. maybe 3 to 5 more.

Now, let it play out..could be wrong..and if I am..it will be very obvious before midnight.

The one thing that weather people do when nowcasting is jump the gun..Im very guilty of that even though I think the numbers will be a bit less on the backside.

If you look at this radar..temps are beginning to drop fast in north jersey and even nyc on north.

Look at south jersey...you can see precip filling in big time and heading back up here for a THIRD SHOT..and then FOURTH SHOT.

So again, by midnight we will know if areas projected to get 6 to 12 more of snow get it..or is it just 3 to 6...but it will snow almost everywhere again..just be patient.
