    shhhhhh!

you'll ruin the circus perception thats giving the media an easy target!

and yeah despite the moves made we're still only like 16 mil under. Landry and devito were gonna cost us anyway.

still, once again we need a good draft.

    This one hurts.
I wonder what the thinking is with having Cro & Holmes restructure?
I mean, who are we freeing this $ up for?

Here's what I don't understand. The people above Rex were terrible and had to go. They were incompetent and got us in this mess. The people below Rex were incompetent and had to go. They are stupid and didn't coach worth a shit. But Rex gets to stay because he was awesome. He is also a defensive genius. However, he did play dogshit linebackers that everyone on this board knew were horrible and didn't play the young players that everyone on this board know will be better. What am I missing? Teflon Rex?

i think they are just wanting to get out of cap hell and this year is pretty much being written off and then next year rex will be gone (which saddens me) as will sanchez (which doesnt) and we will be starting over with a new QB and a new HC - are there any more Harbaugh siblings or even cousins available?

The money is being pushed forward, not removed. Simply making next years cap less manageable. The Jets wouldn't be making a bad situation worse without having something in mind for this season.

At least ...I don't think they would.

Guys, I loved watching Landry this season, but 2 things...

First, you're betting that his history wasnthe outlier, and he'll stay healthy....think about his style of play....

Second...do you see what's available in FA. Spots are drying up, and much like musical chairs...there's plenty of talent that will be signing at a reduced rate when the music stops.

So you are a big fan of keeping sanchez, but getting rid of landry. Nuff said.

Although no one in the. Organization will dare say it this is rebuilding mode,,,,,although why on earth Rex is still here amazes me . Blowing it up half assed is what they have done,,,,,,if we do get a new head coach next year do you think he will retain all of these coordinators ? They should have done it rite this year but then again these are our beloved jets

Jets have to keep him for another year due to his contract. Nuff said

It's been real Landry though. We are truly restructuring this roster. Time to build the Jets the legit way and that's through the draft. We need 2 strong drafts.

Agreed - you make it sound like the Jets had the choice to let Sanchez go w/out any penalty/repercussions just b/c they love him - the fact is it is not worth it to let him go - between creating a bigger hole and not getting any cap relief from it.

"Mark, you are not going to start this year. If you are willing to take a paycut, we will either trade you, or release you, and you may find an opportunity to start"

I would still cut or trade his worthless ass, JMO

Landry is an average safety. For the right price it would have been nice to have him back but he is not worth $6 million a year.

You guys do realize Sanchez's contract has nothing to do with Landry or are cap hell. Sanchez contract is only bad because most on here view him as a non starter.

If Sanchez was not under contract it would have been somebody else for similar money.

    Agreed

He's fun to watch but he's an average player at best with a lot of limitations. I'd rather the Jets go out and sign Michael Huff.

Its company money not Woodys personal money. It will be saved for next year and who ever we plan on bringing in in FA and our draft picks

What does that mean exactly. The days of cutting your entire roster and starting from scratch in this age of the NFL dont exsist. Teams now turn things around in a year. It happens every year. All we did was cut over paid old players who were useless anyway. we still have a good core of players.Holmes,Harris,Wilkerson,Coples,Mangold,DBrick,Howard,Cro,Wilson,Powell,Mcknight,Hill,Kerley. I would wait until the draft is over and we make our midlevel signings before I say anything. The only two players who actually ment something that we let go are Devito n Landry. Keller is still a question mark for now

Or more players. Nothing says Sanchez's contract would be used all one player.

They are related. If a player is not living up to their contract, that waste of money is a reason why you don't have funds to move to other players.

I'm fine with Landry walking though. I don't see him staying healthy and was surprised he was healthy all year here.

I believe the money was freed up to trade Revis.

Sucks we lost Landry - he was a difference maker on defense.
