We have to replace C and LT. Hopefully we can sign a center in FA and draft a blue chip LT prospect. Long will likely be the upgrade at LG and Winters and Shell will be back as there aren’t any likely upgrades available to us.
I disagree with the bolded part. Have you looked at the list of potential FAs? I believe that there could be some FA OGs and RTs who are better than Winters and/or Shell and probably Long as well.
Does anyone know if the Jets filled his roster spot? Haven't seen a move. No one will make a difference but just wondering. Wish the Center from USC could've been signed but he was signed off our practice squad to the Broncos.
Yes and no one jumps out at me as a clear upgrade. The right side of the line is serviceable at worst and would be low down on the priority list for me.
Winters is a goner unless he restructures his deal. His guaranteed money is up. I'd rather let Dakota Dozier be a stop-gap for 2019. Big problem here ==== there isnt anyone good at OG in upcoming FA across the league.
I'm not so sure about there not being any good FA OGs. AJ Cann, Kevin Pamphile and Quinton Spain may all be available, and they are all current starters. They may not be great, but are starting caliber OGs. The latter two are or were Tennessee's starting OGs, I believe.
There is no reason Winters shouldn’t be back. With the amount of holes the Jets have it would be mighty stupid to create more holes unnecessarily. We are not gonna replace 5 OLineman in one offseason and while the right side of the OL can stand to be upgraded there aren’t any upgrades available and C & LT upgrades are far more urgent.
