I expect him to be starting by seasons end, especially after todays performance. His hands need to get a little more consistent though but he looks like hes going to be a good player for us for a long time.
Because he's a rookie thats still trying to learn the offense, and actually I think he's about to start to take on a bigger role now.
I'd stick with Cumberlsnd but what's the difference if you play two tight ends. Esp with a lack of quality receivers go to your tight ends. Go with your strength. The Patriots always did when they had Hernandez. Amaro despite the drop shows he can be a superior receiving tight end.
I'm not even arguing that he shouldn't be given reps, I was just giving an explanation as to why he hasn't seen as much playing time to date.
you're talking about 1 player who had maybe 2 good years...but even in his good years it's not like we were in the top 5 or 10 teams are far as TE production goes. What did we have before Keller? Not much. Off the top of my head, Brady, Becht, Baker, Baxter... and why all these TE's with B's? I smell a conspiracy
I've never seen a rookie tight end play this well this fast. Amaro is clearly outplaying all other rookie tight ends including 2 that were taking ahead of him (1 taking before both our first 2 picks.) I don't remember any tight end coming on as a rookie especially with only one legitimate receiver outside of him. ASJ has V-Jax and Ebron has a fantasy lineup surrounding him and Amaro is head and shoulders above them with only Decker who has missed a couple games. I know a lot of people wanted Adams or another WR instead but this was a great pick. While this may be a disappointing season we definitely can be excited for the future of Jace Amaro.
For a 2nd round TE on a team with a bad offense, Amaro has been excellent. Great pick for the Jets there
We actually were in the top 10 teams in TE production when Keller was out there. If you're talking pre-Keller that's like 8 years ago so not exactly relevant to to anything going on with the Jets these days.
I actually wasn't talking Keller at all, I was talking about the Jets as an organization and their failure to utilize the TE position as a whole. You brought up Keller not me and for you to speak about him is irrelevant as he has nothing to do with the Jets these days
