I Figured he would be the starter no matter what. Hopefully he doesn't get wrecked out there.

I say we're looking at 0-3 and THEN Sanchez will come into his own. Three tough defenses in row and we're dealing with suspensions for the first few games... (I don't think it would have been MUCH better with Clemens under Center - probably 1-2 though)

That's my first thought too and then I say but we are going to have a strong defense ourselves. I think he may go 2-2 in the first 4 games.

Clemens isn't going to beat anybody that the rest of the team can't beat without a decent QB under center. Realistically none of the first three opponents are likely to be wins regardless of which of the two QB's is under center.

I'm hoping the Jets pull a rabbit out of the hat opening day in Houston. That's their best chance to get an early win and it's really dependent on their ability to run successfully and keep Williams off of the QB.

BUT we're without Ellis and Pace for the first game...then 3 more without Pace
"Pace and Ellis finished fourth and fifth in tackles last year. Pace led the Jets with 12 tackles for losses. Ellis led New York with eight sacks and 12 quarterback hits.

Their combined stat line: 133 tackles, 18 tackles for losses, 15 sacks, 21 quarterback hits, seven forced fumbles and five recoveries."

I think Clemens would have been the better choice for the first few games then if he struggled, put the kid in. I think New England is going to have a field day with us if Ryan can't scare the bejesus out of Tom Brady with unique looks.

So you think we should not use Sanchez, an offensive player because we don't have two defensive guys playing?

Sure...... What's next, we don't play sanchez Because we got a cheerleader that looks like a man?

Pretty classy quote by Clemens. I'd imagine this was pretty tough for him to swallow.

Good to hear the Clown working w/the first team today too.

Yes and I really do think having the OL together for a full year will only make them better which in turn will only make Sanchez's life that much easier.

    This don't hurt either.

1:55:21 pm CB Darrelle Revis (hamstring), NT Kris Jenkins (calf), RT Damien Woody (head) and CB Donald Strickland (toe), none of whom played against the Ravens on Monday night, are practicing. It has not yet been determined if any or all of them will play against the Giants on Saturday

The only good thing about this decision is that I think Sanchez is mentally prepared for it... I mean, he looks very strong mentally. Now let's see if the football works out too...

That he is not prepared enough from a football perspective. One thing is saying he will learn by being thrown to the wolves and not be succumbed by it, another is to say that he will be successful straight away... because he won't. Oh well, at least I hope he makes up some experience and next year we are in a good position to draft a DL :p

PS In all of this situation Clemens has always been a class act... I hop he can win the starting job somwhere or be a back-up at the Jets for a long time.
