Before we go out and lynch the offensive coaches, remember Coles' quote about getting in sync with Favre: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=35683 Based on the above, I don't think we have a clear-cut case of the coaches still calling plays for Pennington. The offense simply needs to get in sync. It will take another game or two.
You people want to fire him so bad... Unless you can guarantee me Bill Cowher...I'm really still on the Mangini bandwagon. Pete Carroll Round 2 wouldn't be bad either... Regardless...Mangini has got to get his team together.
Dude.. How do you know what the mentality of the team is? Are you in the locker room? Do you talk to someone directly on this team and discuss how miserable all the players are because of this coaching staff?Do you talk about how you can relate with these feelings because every Jet fan feels the same as the players in that very locker room? Just checking. Kinda thinking the fans are the one's that are so worked up right now. Pissed, angry, depressed, over-reacting Jet fans. Everyone gets that the playcalling was not good and that they made some errors throughout this game, we get it. If we all agree on this and have concluded such, then how about we wait to see what next week brings us from Mangini & Co? I'm willing to bet they will come to the same conclussion as everyone else that follows the Jets. Just a hunch. It was clear as day. Oh wait... Then again.... It is game TWO of the season. The only game that ever, ever, ever, ever matters during a season is game TWO, before and after this game of the season, every team then treats the rest of the games like they are exhibition games to prepare for game TWO of the next season to come. Crown the Patriots now, they won game TWO in the season, why even play out the rest of the games? Pointless. Relax, this is only one game, Sir.
My reality has set in, we are absolutely dreadful, my list of things to do by next week. 1. Fire Mangini 2. Fire Schitty 3. Fire Sutton 4. Fire Westhoff 5. Trade Favre for Pennington 6. Release Gholston, he is a bust 7. Release DBustshaw These moves need to be made immediately, this team is sinking faster then the titanic. One more thing, we need to ditch the uniforms, they clearly aren't helping any. This team is finished after 2 games, unless all these moves are made by next week.
Last year we wanted Sutton's head. This year it's Shottenheimer, that should be shoT!!! Offensive play calling was atrocious!!!
I agree, I am officially off the Mangini bandwagon(I don't wnat him fired but his leash is getting shorter). How many years must these 12 men on the field penalties go on? We weren't 5 mins into that game and I think we already burned 2 timeouts. This team is unprepared and how many years must we watch ben Graham shank punts? The guys has been awful for 3-4 years now- can we at least bring in some competition for him?
well if the behavior is a reflection of the mentality, then i don't need to be in the locker room to know anything; i can see it for myself on the field. and again, i'll say it again, since some people can't read: it's not just game two, the second week of the season. this is about more than that; try looking past game two to other times. last week, we ran the ball on 3rd and 7 when a 1st down puts the game away. this week - forget about the the goal line calls - Schottenheimer waits until there's 11 minutes left in the 4th to open up the playbook and let Favre throw it to WR's who are actually running routes beyond 3 yards. and guess what? it worked, and we scored. where the fuck was this the rest of the game? these coaches need to be more aggressive and stop running with their tails between their legs in big moments in big games.
