A wise man once said... Youth is wasted on the young. Many true fans wasted years on false hopes and dreams... You may become one, one day, but then again who knows? I truly hope you never have to.
I can dig it, I hope we have that type of a season, I'm not saying this can't be a special team, but the likelihood of it happening 3 times (Falcons, Ravens 2008) in the last 2 seasons, is very unlikely unless, certain things come into play for the Jets. One of these receivers steps up his game, big time, we have NO serious injuries to either of our lines (offensive or defensive) and Dustin Keller, learns to become a well rounded TE. If that happens, I think this team will go far, but that's a few too many ifs, but I feel ya.
I'm giving up on Lito only. Oh and we still have no punter. But Bart Scott ripping the ball excited me!
Yeah and one drive before he made that play I recall a couple posters saying "Bart Scott sucks why the fuck did we sign him" Chirping is warranted if a guy plays like shit in several games, not when a guy has a bad half or even one bad game.
whats wrong w you guys. jets used to go 4-0 on preseason and 3-13 in regular season. mark my works... we make the playoffs and maybe even the division.
this team looks like a decent 8-8 team against a tough Giants team. Sanchez is making plays that I didn't think he could make for a rookie. this year will be fun to watch, but it won't be a playoff year. section314 is known for his chicken little posts.
The Jets will be a lot better than many of you suspect this season. Look for the Jets to be competitive in every game. I believe they will make the playoffs.
sec314 bagging on longtime fans for giving up season tickets during offseason....gives up during first quarter of a preseason game. Fucking sad to say the least.
sec314 is a cool dude, he just was drinking and posting again. I'm sure he be fine in the morning. I forgive you sec314!
I gave up my ticks sec 112 - i dont feel like paying for preseason anymore - i can get any game on ebay or ticket-exchange - and i dont mind paying up for big games. also, i refuse to go to a game like last year fins week 17, and route against the jets so Pats dont make playoff. season tickets are just not worth it anymore - but i still go to games and have a better experience. cheers
When all was said and done..that was one of the most impressive games I have seen a jet qb play in a long time. Im not just talking about numbers or stat wise..but where he is at this point of his career. Take into consideration he is a rookie...was hounded early for the second straight game and bounced back even better then last week. He made some throws that we as Jet fans havent seen in years. He gave his receivers a chance to do something after the catch. He was chased in the pocket and knew he had a receiver wide open to let one flutter under pressure. He made some great short slant throws....one to cotch that was a masterpiece. The end zone throw to cotch was also a fantasic throw...double teamed but both defenders not facing the qb..he threw it slightly behind Cotch and it was almost caught. This game..which Im sure the author of this absurd thread saw when he decided to put it out in the middle of the first quarter..had the Jets being outplayed on both sides of the ball..and then a complete turnaround...the Jets dominated them until the starters left the game. Sanchez answered any questions I had going into this game tonite..number 1 being potential. Regardless of how his first season turns out..he has the POTENTIAL to be an outstanding qb...with his physical and mental ability. Great game.
Dude u r always pessimistic. All ur posts r full of 'we suck' n 'we r loosers' kind of mentality. U made this post before half time n decided 20 minutes of pre season was enuff. That sir is a full of shit conclusion! Nothing personal but I hate fans like that..never behind ur teams back. Have some optimism for god sake! SancheZ played an excellent overall game against one of the best defensive units in the NFL. Our defense wasn't aweful either. If Lito didn't commit any penalties, this unit would have looked even better. Watever the reason was, Jets made one of the highest paid QB in the NFL look pathetic. Its the pre season for Christ sake, not the playoffs. U experience a lot of plays to see how ur team does. That is not called 'rookie headcoach mistakes'. I love wat Rex has done so far. He's not a young coach. He's been in the field for ages, just not as a head coach. He knows how it works n is doing a great job of it. If anything, beating the super bowl champs from two yrs ago's starters just reinforces my optimism. Sanchez will be a heck of a QB n the face of this franchise for years to come. There will be bumps on the way but he'll lead us to our second SB win very soon. Thinking negative will never get u anywhere. Think positive. It even helps u go through a tough time.
Yeah, I gotta admit, I got down on them pretty fast. What can i say, season tic holder for 29 years.... the sky is falling. I certainly felt better about the QB and WR's after my post but we still have lots of issues. Is this team ever gonna get a good punter again and can we find a TE who can block and catch. Keller still can't block and all the other guys are OL that can't catch. Anyway, for now, I fell a little better> My pessimistic attitude is my Jet defensive mechanism so I don't feel pain, dont' expect much and it won't hurt as much. Trust me, Sunday morning, opening day, I will be pumped and be convinved that's its gonna be a super bowl year. Thanks for putting up with my rants.
We will never win anything until we find the long term answer at Punter.... Every year I get my hopes up that this is the guy who'll be able to pin them deep, and every fucking year he boots it right into the fucking endzone. When will they learn?
If it's any consolation, most of us have gotten used to it. I never thought I'd see the day when I'd defend your negativity, but that day was yesterday. I may not agree with it, but you've earned the right to pop off after those 29 years. I'm glad to see you feel a bit better about the team, though. We absolutely do need consistency at the punter position if we're going to play ball control, field position football. I'm pretty much right where I was before the game yesterday. We have some holes, hopefully we'll address them, and I think we'll be a much different team at midseason than we will starting off. I'm excited to watch the development of this team this season. I know we all want to win now, but that development should be something to look forward to as well.
 I agree that the Jets badly need to upgrade the position, but do you realize how ridiculous that statement is? There are many holes (d-line and WR, to name 2) that will hamper the Jets more than Reggie Hodges.
