If games are gonna be called like that in the secondary we're gonna have a rough year. I don't like to blame penalties for losing a game and I'm not doing that now. I'm just saying, with our heavy man coverage schemes if benefit of the doubt is gonna be given to the receiver than we're gonna see a ton of flags thrown. It's pathetic

The Braylon/kicker penalty was absolute horse shit... Most of the others were legit though

Wow quite interesting, for the most part I didn't have an issue with too many of them but I do think Cundiff sold that running into the kicker call. He held that leg up there until he knew he would come down on Edwards. It was almost like Edwards was under him before he even went up with the kick.

I also thought the PI on Wilson in the EZ was questionable, both players made contact and that ball was so far overthrown that Housh had no chance to catch it.

The call on Hunter was legit but the refs stood there and allowed the Baltimore player to push but Hunter started to walk away and did it. Just a stupid penalty.

There were two no calls on the Ravns, the 1st was a hold that was picked up by the refs in which Tirico said as the flag was thrown this one's coming back for offensive holding , Taylor was in a full nelson but somehow was picked up

And the no call in which Lowery was floored and two Ravens players were going after him after the the whistle.

How bout this one guys? While I saw the play live, I immediately yelled out because I would have done the same thing. Dustin comes out of his cut catches the ball and looks up to see the guy with the first down marker standing one yard behind the first down. Somebody screwed up

The NFL has become a complete pussy league. These asshole refs need to swallow their fuck'n whistles already and let the players play. Every season there are more and more penalties which are added to the books which is destroying the game. I guess the NFL likes it that way so they can have their refs control the outcome of the games and keep the bookies happy.

How can anyone watch that game and not think the Jets were wildly undisciplined. Their deserved penalties were all huge. They all came on 3rd and longs or on a punt. It was so frustrating to watch.

The Jets gave this game away plain and simple. I will not even say that the Ravens D embarrassed the Jets. The Jets with their play calling and failure to show up embarrassed themselves......That was awful.

The Jets and the Vikings should both be 1-0. The officials made huge game changing mistakes in both games.

Several mistakes were made but these two calls were huge:

The pass interference call against Wilson was garbage.

Vilma should have been called for pass interference on his interception in the Thursday game.

I like to know what world Jets fans live in where they expect a rookie not to be called on an arm bar, so the Wr has no shot at making a play?

You guys explain that to me coherently and maybe I will actually think you aren't blind. That was a penalty.

That was a bad call. They should have flagged him for leverage.

The reffing was fine. The only one that was even questionable was against Wilson.. not the PI, but a 5-yarder, I think. The one that didn't make a difference.

Maybe if we had bothered to throw we'd have gotten a call or two as well..

Absolutely valid post. The bottom line is, the two biggest plays of the game were the Greene fumble (with us already up 6-0 and inside the Baltimore 30 looking for more) and the DPI call on Wilson that gave them the ball on the 1 yard line. Now, we didn't lose the game on the DPI call (or even the running into the kicker call before that), because it would have only left us leading 6-3 with a ton of football left. (The truth is, the Greene fumble was the biggest play of the game, and without it, I think we go up a minimum of 9-0 and probably go on to win) But it was a HUGE, HUGE play, nonetheless. And, to be perfectly honest, it was a bad call. If things are going to be called that tightly on the outside for us, we are going to have trouble against elite passing teams. It's really that simple

The odd thing was all the flags thrown then late in the game the entire Ravens roster gangs up on Dwight Lowery and throws him around after the whistle and tries to get shots on him and the refs stood there and didn't throw a flag. I wouldn't have had an issue with this if the Jets were in there causing trouble too, but no one did anything besides a couple Ravens trying to murder Lowery probably for payback on the block he gave on an earlier special teams play all in front of at least two officials eyes. Completely biased right there.

It pretty much symbolized the game. I have a friend who hates the Jets and was glad the stuff was going against them but even he thought some of the penalties were just ridiculous stuff that should've been non-calls.

The one thing I really wonder is what Goodell thought of the officiating and the game, considering he was there watching.

Forgot to add this to my post, but the guy wasn't out of position. He moved after the ball was caught and Keller was heading towards him on the sidelines to get out of the way.

In one of our preseason games a Giant WR made a catch with our CB in a headlock.

I was sure he was going for a piledriver next.

I personlly found the officiating to be bad. I felt it had an undue effect on the game, but, that said, the Ravens played to that. They knew how this crew would call it; that if you throw the ball, three things can happen, and two of them are good.

There were definitely bad calls but poor play by our DBs set the tone and most of the calls were good calls but when you are undisciplined you won't get the benefit of the doubt.

Wow... so Keller didn't make a bonehead play afterall, he was going to the yard stick. It doesn't matter. I have no faith that Sanchez was getting this team anywehere close to FG range.
